  • Patent number: 7746744
Abstract: An optical recording system and a control method thereof. The method includes detecting a target signal level. If the change level of the target signal exceeds a tolerant range, it represents that a shock has occurred. The shock frequency is recorded according to the shock, and the tolerant range is adjusted according to the recorded shock frequency. If the change level of the target signal exceeds the tolerant range, a pick-up head stops writing data into the optical storage medium. If the change level of the target signal is less than or equal to the tolerant range, the pick-up head writes data into the optical storage medium.

  • Publication number: 20070138736
Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes a paper tray, a pick-up roller and a sheet-lifting mechanism. A plurality of sheets including a first sheet and a second sheet disposed above the first sheet is stored in the paper tray. The paper tray includes a bottom plate in contact with the first sheet, and a stopper for stopping leading edges of the first sheet and the second sheet. The pick-up roller, which is movable and rotatable, picks up the second sheet and enables the leading edge of the second sheet to pass over the stopper. The sheet-lifting mechanism disposed on the paper tray lifts up the leading edges of the second sheet and the first sheet from the bottom plate.

  • Publication number: 20060001210
Abstract: An automatic document feeder (ADF) having a replaceable friction roller assembly. The ADF includes a housing having a back plate which may be raised and a base pivotalby connected to the back plate, a supporting element disposed on the housing and having a shaft hole, a first engaging structure disposed on the housing, and a friction roller assembly. The friction roller assembly includes a rotating shaft, a friction roller and a first sleeve. The friction roller is fixed to the rotating shaft. The first sleeve is rotatably mounted on the rotating shaft. The first sleeve has a second engaging structure which is engaged with the first engaging structure in order to rotatably and firmly mount the rotating shaft to the housing. The friction roller assembly may be replaced when the second engaging structure and the first engaging structure are disengaged.

  • Publication number: 20050259298
Abstract: A duplex scan method of detecting document size includes the steps of: (a) detecting size of a document and generating a size signal while moving the document from a sheet input tray to a reverse region; (b) moving the document across a scan region from the reverse region to the reverse region and scanning a back side of the document at the scan region according to the size signal; and (c) moving the document across the scan region from the reverse region to a sheet output tray and scanning a front side of the document at the scan region according to the size signal.

  • Publication number: 20050179959
Abstract: In a sheet-fed scanner capable of scanning multiple scan lines as a calibration standard for an image signal, a scanning module scans a document, which is fed across a scan region by a sheet-feeding mechanism, and a stationary calibration sheet in the scan region. The scanning module includes an image sensor, a lens and at least one reflecting mirror. An actuator actuates the reflecting mirror to enable the image sensor to sense a plurality of scan lines on the calibration sheet through the lens and the reflecting mirror in order to obtain a calibration standard for the image signal of the document. The calibration standard is adopted to calibrate an image signal of the document, and with this invention, it is possible to avert any flaws in image quality caused by the contaminated calibration sheet.
