  • Publication number: 20040028545
Abstract: A cylinder assembly for a mini air compressor includes a cylinder, a discharge check valve, a piston, a supply check valve and a piston rod. The cylinder has two open ends, and the piston with an open end and a closed end is slidably mounted in the cylinder. A supply check valve is mounted on the closed end of the piston. A discharge check valve is adapted to mount on and seal one end of the cylinder. At least one of the supply check valve and the discharge check valve has with a flexible, resilient disk. Two check valves are configured such that only one valve opens at a time when the piston slides in the cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20030039103
Abstract: A modular base unit optionally cooperates with various modular car appliances, such as car air pumps or portable lamps. The base unit includes of a case for receiving a battery fitted therein or receiving a car plug collected therein, and a connecting portion corresponding to a socket defined in the car appliance. When the base unit is detachably connected with the car appliance, the car appliance is electrically connected with a power supply via the base unit. Whereby the modular car appliances occupy a small volume in a storage space within a car, and the expenditure of both users and manufacturers are reduced because of the modularity.

  • Publication number: 20030007788
Abstract: A steam cleaner has a housing, a steam generator, a pump, a reservoir, a cap and a filter. The steam generator is mounted in the housing. The pump is mounted in the housing and communicates with the steam generator. The reservoir is detachably attached to a base on the housing. The cap is detachably attached to the reservoir and communicates with the steam generator. The filter is detachably attached to the cap and extends into the reservoir. Accordingly, the water in the reservoir is filtered by the filter before the water is transported to the steam generator. The structure of the housing and the mold to form the housing are simplified. The cost for manufacturing the steam cleaner is reduced. Furthermore, to install and to change the filter is easier.

  • Publication number: 20030006024
Abstract: A radiator for a motor in an air compressor has a tubular casing enclosing the motor. The tubular casing has a plurality of fins radially formed on a body thereof. Two of the fins are longer than the others, and each has an opening defined at an edge thereof. The long fins are engaged with a base of the air compressor by fasteners extending between the base and the openings of the longer fins. A cooling fan is rotatably mounted on an axle extending from the motor and adjacent the fins.

  • Publication number: 20020117049
Abstract: A pneumatic motor includes a cylinder and a piston movably received in the cylinder. The cylinder includes a first end cover and a second end cover respectively attached to the opposite ends of the cylinder. An inlet port is defined in the first end cover and an outlet port is defined in the second end cover. The piston divides the cylinder into two chambers. An exhaust passage is defined in the piston and communicates with the two chambers. A cavity is defined in the first end cover to receive a shock absorber, and a path is defined to communicate with the cavity and the inlet port in the first end cover. The shock absorber mounted in the cavity in the first end cover cushions the striking force when the piston strikes the first end cover.

  • Patent number: 6415704
Abstract: A pneumatic oil pump has a cylinder, a piston, a pedal and an oil reservoir. The cylinder has a central bore, a sealed front end and a sealed rear end. An air connector is mounted in a cover on the front end of the cylinder. An actuating valve is mounted in the cover on the front end of the cylinder and communicating with the air connector and the central bore of the cylinder. The piston is movably mounted in the bore of the cylinder to divide the central bore of the cylinder into a first chamber and a second chamber. A piston seat is attached to the piston at an end facing the rear end of the cylinder. A ventilative, sound-absorbing material is arranged between the air outlets of the piston and the piston seat. By such an arrangement, the shock of the air flow can be absorbed by the ventilative, sound absorbing material. Therefore, noise and shock will not occur when the pneumatic pump is in operation.

  • Patent number: 6186247
Abstract: A drive assembly for an electric hand tool uses a ratchet and two opposed, spring-loaded pawls. The ratchet is integrally formed as a dovetail flange on the tool shaft inside a hollow rotor. The pawls are asymmetrical and pivotally mounted inside a recess in the rotor such that the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the rotor causes the appropriate pawl to engage the ratchet and rotate the tool in the appropriate direction. When the rotor stops rotating, the spring causes the pawl to disengage from the ratchet and return to a rest position. This drive assembly is advantageous in that it completely does away with the noise generated by the gears in the conventional drive assembly and is much cheaper and more convenient to repair.
