Abstract: The auxiliary structure for connecting a connector for use in portable telephones of the present invention provides structure for connecting a connector for charging a telephone body and/or performing data communication with the telephone body to a socket exposed from an opening provided on the telephone body. Removably attached to the opening is a connecting auxiliary member which is made of softer material than the one used for a casing of the telephone body. The connecting auxiliary member is formed with an insertion hole for the connector to be fitted into and formed with a guide face for guiding an end portion of the connector to a position of engagement with the socket. Accordingly, when the connector is connected to the socket of the telephone body, the end portion of the connector can easily be engaged with the socket, and the connector is unlikely to be damaged.

Abstract: In a braille recognition system according to the present invention, light is obliquely irradiated onto the surface of a document in braille, and its reflected light is received by imaging means, to obtain a gray image. An image corresponding to a pattern of projected points on the document in braille is obtained on the basis of the obtained gray image. An image is then cut in braille units from the image corresponding to the pattern of projected points. A braille code is generated for each cut image in the braille unit.

Abstract: In a record player for playing a record disk on which video information is recorded, the player body is equipped with a turntable having a diameter smaller than the information-recorded surface part of the record disk, on which the record disk is pressed at its central part, and the pick-up has access from below to the information-recorded surface part of the record disk extending outwardly of the turntable surface.

Abstract: A video disc player utilizable with a flexible foil-type information carrier disc adapted to be rotated at its center at a relatively high speed while hovering on a rotation-induced air cushion above a stationary platform. The video disc player has a table structure including the platform and a disc receiving chamber designed such that, even if the video disc is inserted thereinto together with a disc envelope accommodating the video disc therein, the disc is drawn out of the envelope and subsequently fed onto the platform and that the video disc, which has been resting on the platform, can be fed into the envelope as the empty envelope is inserted into the disc receiving chamber.

Abstract: An automatic record feeding device particularly advantageous for use in association with a flexible foil-type video disc record used by a video disc player. The record feeding device includes a transfer roll having at least one escapement recess or notch formed in the outer peripheral surface thereof, and a back-up guide cooperative with the transfer roll to hold the disc record between it and the transfer roll during transfer of the disc record from one position to another.
