  • Patent number: 8795042
Abstract: Provided is a defroster nozzle 4 which blows out air to an inner surface of a windshield 2 of a vehicle 1. The defroster nozzle 4 includes center-duct 45 forming member 41 and two end-portion-duct forming members 50. The center-duct 45 forming member 41 forms a center duct through which the air circulates, and has a center ventilation outlet 47 through which the air in the center duct is blown out to the inner surface of the windshield 2. The two end-portion-duct 54 forming members 50 are coupled respectively to two joint end portions 42, on outer sides in the vehicle width direction, of the center-duct forming member 41. Each end-portion-duct forming member 50 forms an end-portion duct which communicates with the center duct, and each end-portion-duct forming member 50 has an end-portion ventilation outlet 55 through which the air in the end-portion duct is blown out to the inner surface of the windshield 2.

  • Patent number: 6513230
Abstract: A core-coupling unit includes a top cover and a bottom cover each having a U-shape. The core-coupling unit clamps a pair of core members in a coupled state with the top cover and the bottom cover being coupled with each other. The top cover is provided with apertures formed in respective legs of the top cover, and the bottom cover is provided with projections formed on respective legs of the bottom cover, the projections mating with the apertures so as to prevent removal. Play-gaps are provided between each projection and respective front and rear edges of the aperture. Lips are provided on the covers for maintaining the positions of the core members in the backward and forward directions. The top and bottom covers are moved backward and forward relative to each other while the core members are clamped, whereby the core members are moved together with the respective top and bottom covers, thereby performing core-rubbing.

  • Patent number: 5927755
Abstract: The knee bolster structure to be mounted on an instrument panel 13 comprises a panel 2 and a stay 3 for supporting the panel 2, while the stay 3 is composed of a stay main body 4 and patch 5 so disposed on the stay main body 4 as to cover the stay main body 4. In a vehicle collision, the stay 3 is deformed starting from notches 8 respectively formed in the stay main body 4 but, during the deformation of the stay 3, the leading end side 11 of a top plate 9 provided in the patch 5 is butted against the bottom surface 6 of the stay main body 4, thereby being able to prevent stresses from being concentrated onto the notches 8. Also, since the wall portions 7 of the stay main body 4 are held by the side walls 10 of the patch 5, they are prevented from being opened outwardly. Due to this structure, the drag of the stay 3 or the knee bolster structure can be stabilized, so that shock energy caused in the vehicle collision can be absorbed efficiently.

  • Patent number: 5820157
Abstract: An instrument panel 1 has opening 2 formed therein for accommodating an air bag mounting for a vehicle. The vehicle air bag, and a structure element 4 is provided in the inside of the opening. A mount portion 9 of an air bag unit 6 is fixed to a bracket 5 of the structure element 4 with bolts 10. The air bag unit 6 has mount portions 8 at its opposite sides, at which the air bag unit 6 is fixed with bolts 18 to brackets 13 mounted at opposite sides of the opening 2. The brackets 13 are made of steel plate, and have upper and lower ends connected to the instrument panel with screws 14 via reinforcing bosses 15 or reinforcing elements 12.

  • Patent number: 5301885
Abstract: A unidirectional material for helicopter parts is fabricated by winding a composite-material roving delivered from a feeding mechanism of a filament winding device around and between a plurality of pins provided on a mandrel rotating about the longitudinal axis thereof, the roving feeding mechanism being moved in a traversing manner such that the feeding path of the roving becomes a figure eight figure, whereby the roving is thus wound to form a tubular mesh of obliquely crossing and staggered helixes of the roving around the mandrel. The material has an improved strength in a transverse direction of the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 5047106
Abstract: A flexbeam for rotor blades of a helicopter comprises a flapping flexible structure forming a mast mounting and flapping part, a flexible structure forming a feathering and lead-lag motion part coupled with the flapping flexible structure, and a rotor blade mounting part located at the free end of the flexible structure and adapted to be coupled with a rotor blade. The feathering and lead-lag motion part comprises an elongated central member made of a composite fiber material, and a pair of elongated frame members disposed along the longitudinal sides of the central member. The frame members are each made of loops of unidirectional composite fiber material and has a Y-shaped cross section. The feathering and lead-lag motion part is fabricated by integrally joining the central member and the frame members along the longitudinal sides of the latter. The Y-shaped cross section has a pair of parallel ribs extending away from the central member.
