Patent number: 6809916Abstract: A shock absorbing body is interposed between an internal component such as a hard disk drive (HDD) and the inside surface of an enclosure for an electronic apparatus such as a notebook personal computer. The shock absorbing body includes a first receiving surface defined at one end of the shock absorbing body so as to receive the internal component. A second receiving surface is defined at the other end of the shock absorbing body so as to receive the inside surface of the enclosure. A constriction is formed in the shock absorbing body between the first and second receiving surfaces. When a larger impact is applied to the enclosure, the shock absorbing body is allowed to suffer from a fracture at the constriction. The energy of the impact is transformed into the energy of the fracture at the constriction. The impact energy is sufficiently consumed in this manner. The internal component can be protected from the larger impact.Type: GrantFiled: January 30, 2001Date of Patent: October 26, 2004Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Katsuhiko Nakata, Tadanobu Matsumura, Shinichirou Kouno

Patent number: 6067227Abstract: A heat sink mounted on a heat producing element for cooling the heat producing element attached on the printed board of the electronic apparatus, having a heat sink body made of a good heat conductive material and a fan assembly installed inside the heat sink body. The heat sink body is efficiently air-cooled by a cooling air generated by the rotation of the fan assembly. The cooling air forcibly cools a base and a fixing wall of the base adjacent to the heat producing element and plate-like radiating fins or a pin-like radiating fins are protruded on the heat sink body to radiate the heat effectively. The position of the fan assembly is at the center of the heat sink body or is at the offset position from the center of the heat sink body. The heat sink of the present invention can be installed in a portable electronic apparatus such as a portable computer.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 1999Date of Patent: May 23, 2000Assignees: Fujitsu Limited, PFU LimitedInventors: Tadashi Katsui, Katsuhiko Nakata, Takeshi Koga, Tadanobu Matsumura, Yoshimi Tanaka, Yasuaki Sugimoto, Takashi Kitahara, Takayuki Horinishi

Patent number: 4486058Abstract: A power source terminal assembly for the wiring of electronic instruments, in which a plurality of terminal screw rods, each having a central flange, are molded into an insulating substrate with the flanges partly embedded therein. At least one of the terminal screw rods is designed so that one side of the flange projects outwardly from the substrate surface by a predetermined amount, and this terminal screw rod is used as a grounding terminal. A casing of an electronic instrument has a hole, for receiving the grounding terminal screw rod to permit one side of its flange to make contact with the casing, and a window for insertion of the other terminal screw rods without making contact with the casing. The power source terminal assembly is engaged with the casing, and the grounding terminal and one portion of the power source assembly are fixedly retained by fixing means to the casing.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1982Date of Patent: December 4, 1984Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Yasumasa Takagi, Tomohico Sasaki, Tadanobu Matsumura, Tadashi Gobuichi
