  • Publication number: 20020100717
Abstract: A fuel filter apparatus may include a filter case having an exterior surface, a flange extending substantially perpendicularly from the exterior surface having at least one hole, a fuel inlet port and a fuel outlet port. A filter element may be disposed within the filter case between the fuel inlet port and the fuel outlet port. A fuel pump may be disposed within the filter case. A fuel pressure regulator also may be mounted on the fuel filter case. The fuel pressure regulator may have an excess fuel discharge port adapted to discharge excess fuel to the top surface of the filter case. The fuel filter apparatus is adapted to permit the excess fuel to return to a fuel reservoir through the at least one hole and along the exterior surface of the filter case.

  • Patent number: 6378504
Abstract: A fuel supply system includes a fuel pump 2 and a housing 1 that are disposed within a fuel tank 6. A damping material 50 is disposed on an upper end portion of a sidewall of the housing 1. The damping material 50 reduces the transmission of vibrations generated by the fuel pump 2 from to the fuel tank 6 to thereby prevent the fuel tank from vibrating. The damping material 50 may include an elastic material having a specific gravity of 0.12 to 0.4. Alternatively, the damping material 50 may include a fuel-resistant paper material.

  • Patent number: 6311725
Abstract: A fuel supply apparatus for engines of a multi-point injection system using fuel tanks of many sizes and shapes is disclosed. In the fuel supply apparatus, a pump device 10 is constructed of an electric motor-driven fuel pump 10, a fuel filter 49, and a pressure regulator 21, which are contained in a housing integrally constructed of a first and second cases 11 and 12. A suction port 15 of the pump device 10 communicates with a suction opening 24 of the fuel pump 19, while a discharge outlet portion 26 of the pump device 10 communicates with a discharge port 17 through the fuel filter 49. The discharge port 17 communicates with an inlet of the pressure regulator 21. An outlet of the pressure regulator 21 communicates with a return port 16 of the pump device 10.

  • Patent number: 6156201
Abstract: A fuel filter (10) has a filter case (11), and a return path (25) is provided on the upper surface of the filter case (11). Return fuel discharged from a pressure regulator is supplied to the return path (25). The return path (25) having a closed lower end is provided with branch paths (26). The return fuel supplied to the return path (25) passes through the branch paths (26) and flows down into fuel reservoir along the outside peripheral surface of the filter case (11). Electrical charge on the surface of the filter case (11) is reduced when the return fuel flows along the outside peripheral surface of the filter case (11). Kinetic energy of the return fuel is reduced by the energy absorbing effect of the return path (25), the energy distributing effect of the branch paths (26), and the energy absorbing effect when the return fuel flows down along the outside peripheral surface of the filter case. Thus, fuel return sound waves from the returning fuel dropping into the fuel reservoir are reduced.

  • Patent number: 5426844
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a rotation of a rotational member. A core is disposed opposite to the rotational member. A coil of wire is disposed around the core. A permanent magnet, which is formed in a shaft of a symmetrically cut out cross section, is connected to the core. A bobbin is provided with a first cylindrical portion for receiving therein the core and winding the wire of the coil around the first cylindrical portion, and a second cylindrical portion integrally connected to the first cylindrical portion in co-axial relationship therewith. The second cylindrical portion is formed with cutout portions to provide a periphery corresponding to a periphery of the permanent magnet, and arranged to receive therein at least a part of the permanent magnet in co-axial relationship with the core.
