  • Patent number: 5229329
Abstract: An insulated lead frame for a semiconductor packaged device and a method of manufacturing both the insulated lead frame and the semiconductor packaged device are disclosed. The insulated lead frame has a first plurality of lead fingers and a second plurality of lead fingers. It also has the face of a power supply bus lying between the pluralities of lead fingers. An insulator covers the face of the power supply bus. An example of an insulator is a cured liquid polyimide. In a semiconductor packaged device using a lead on chip lead frame, such as a dynamic random access memory, DRAM, wire bonding that connects the power supply busses of the lead frame may first occur and the liquid insulator may afterwards be applied to the power supply busses. Alternatively, by knowing where the wire bonds will bond to the power supply busses, the liquid insulator may be applied to the power supply busses before wire bonding occurs. The bonding spots on the power supply busses are not covered with the liquid insulator.

  • Patent number: 5144609
Abstract: In an apparatus for tracking an optical disc, speed in acquiring a steady tracking condition is significant. That is, if the light beam is subjected to feedback while it is positioned in a positive feedback region, e.g., in the middle of adjoining tracks, the track servo system causes an oscillation. Therefore, according to the present invention, there is effected a comparison between the magnitude of signals from two pits disposed offset from the track and a pit on the track to determine the position of the light beam so that the tracking error signal may be inversed when the light beam is positioned in the middle of adjoining tracks. This will operate the tracking system in the negative feedback region to more quickly achieve a stable tracking state.

  • Patent number: 5077716
Abstract: An optical recording and reproducing system having an accurate high-speed optical head positioning apparatus. In one embodiment, a positive acceleration is applied to the optical head until the optical head has moved half the distance to a target track. Thereafter, a negative acceleration is applied to the optical head to decelerate the optical head until the optical head arrives at the target track. Feedback control is not used while the optical head is moving, thus eliminating a delay in response time due to a limited servo band upon the transition from the positive acceleration to the negative acceleration.

  • Patent number: 4951275
Abstract: In an apparatus for tracking an optical disk, readiness in acquiring a steady tracking condition is significant. That is, if the light beam is subjected to feed back while it is positioned in a positive feed back region, e.g., in the middle of adjoining tracks, the track servo system causes an oscillation. Therefore, according to the present invention, the magnitudes of signals from two pits disposed offset from the track and a pit on the track are compared whereby position of the light beam is detected so that the tracking error signal may be cut off when the light beam is positioned in the middle of adjoining tracks.

  • Patent number: 4533831
Abstract: A non-mass-analyzed ion implantation process wherein two or more species of ions of the same polarity having greatly different ion masses are generated from a compound source material, the ions are accelerated under the application of an electric field, and the accelerated ions are scanned under the application of a magnetic field so as to be implanted into a target at a distribution profile which varies with the species of ions. An ion implantation apparatus can be simplified. A large ion beam current with a large spot size can be used and ions can be implanted to the target at a large dose within a short time.
