  • Patent number: 5008624
Abstract: A nuclear magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which does not cause any unnecessary mental disturbances in the object, and which is capable of taking images with patient's postures other than lying flat. The apparatus includes a main magnet having two separated poles arranged in parallel for generating a static magnetic field in an open space between the two poles; and a carrier for carrying an object to be examined into the static magnetic field, capable of supporting the object at arbitrary angles with respect to a floor.

  • Patent number: 4868747
Abstract: A computed tomography method and system for performing dynamic scans of objects undergoing cyclic displacement, for example a human heart. Characteristic curves are generated from images reconstructed from projection data synchronized with the cyclic displacement of the object. Each image reflects one displacement cycle of the object, and consists of projection data collected, in one case, within a phase window centered on a specified phase of cyclic displacement of the object, and in another case, consists of projection data collected between two specified phases of cyclic displacement.

  • Patent number: 4866744
Abstract: A scattering beam eliminating member is located between an X-ray tube and an X-ray gas detector such that it is intimately bonded to the window of the X-ray detector. The scattering beam eliminating member is of such a type that plates and X-ray transmission areas are alternately arranged in a slice direction to permit any scattering beam to be absorbed in the slice direction and never to be incident to the X-ray detector.

  • Patent number: 4646333
Abstract: An X-ray CT scanner contains a cable-handling device provided with a ring-shaped housing for receiving a cable member. A plurality of rollers are interposed between a rotatable inner peripheral and a fixed outer peripheral member of the ring-shaped housing. The cable member is wound around the inner peripheral member at least once, then wound about half the periphery of a specified roller, and finally wound around the outside of the group of the rollers in a direction opposite to that in which the cable member is wound within the housing. The end portions of the cable member facing the inner and outer peripheral members of the housing are fixed thereto. Mounted on a rotating frame are an X-ray tube, X-ray detector and high voltage generator. The high voltage generator and X-ray tube are connected together by a short high voltage cable. The inner peripheral member is rotated with the rotating frame. The cable member is wound around the inner peripheral member or unwound therefrom.

  • Patent number: 4282438
Abstract: A computerized tomography system and method using penetrating radiation having a radiation source for radiating penetrating radiation into the interior of a thin sliced layer portion of a subject, in a manner that it expands substantially in a fanned fashion, a detector for substantially dividing the radiation after passing through said sliced layer portion into a plurality of radiation beams diverging at a defined angle, thereby detecting the intensity of said beams, a moving unit for substantially linearly scanning each of said beams at least once in a direction transverse of said sliced layer portion, a data processing unit for reconstructing an image of said sliced layer portion on the basis of detected data delivered from said detector, and a display unit for displaying said image on the basis of the results of said reconstruction.
