Abstract: Disclosed are: a communication technique and a system therefor for fusing, with IoT technology, a 5G communication system for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G system. Provided is a method for installing a profile of a terminal having an embed universal integrated circuit card (eUICC) in a mobile communication system, the method comprising: requesting for an eUICC authentication certificate to an eUICC and receiving the eUICC authentication certificate; and transferring a profile package to the eUICC so as to install a profile, wherein the received eUICC authentication certificate further comprises an eUICC manufacturer (EUM) authentication certificate.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided that includes a removable SIM to store a first profile including information related to a home network and information related to a roaming network. The portable electronic device also includes an eSIM, and communication circuitry. The portable electronic device further includes at least one processor adapted to determine that the portable electronic device is out of network service coverage corresponding to the home network based at least in part on the first profile, establish, using the communication circuitry, a specified communication connection with the roaming network using the first profile based at least in part on the determining, transmit a request for a second profile associated with data service via the specified communication connection, and receive, in response to the request, the second profile via the specified communication connection, the receiving including storing the second profile in the eSIM.

Abstract: A method and system for managing handover from a first radio access network to second radio access network is provided. The method includes receiving information associated with one or more neighboring cells from a User Equipment (UE). The information associated with the one or more neighboring cell is measurement reports. Thereafter, the method deciding to perform Handover (HO) based on the measurement reports for the UE from the first radio access network to the second radio access network. Further, the method identifies a target cell from the one or more neighboring cells. The method then determines target cell capabilities. Thereby, the method sends at least one of a handover required message and a relocation required message along with the target cell capabilities to a core network element. The core network element then manages voice bearers and non-voice bearers based on the target cell capabilities.

The second external electronic device uses a same subscription information as the electronic device, and the message includes call state information of the call between the electronic device and the first external electronic device.

Abstract: A method, performed by a mobile management entity (MME), for providing a voice call service to a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system and the MME are provided. The method includes receiving, from a mobile management entity (MME), a first message for paging to provide the voice call service to the UE; and sending, to the MME, a second message including a cause associated with a domain change from a packet switching (PS) domain to a circuit switching (CS) domain, wherein, if the MME receives the second message, a third message for requesting suspension of a bearer to provide a service for the UE is sent to a gateway in the PS domain.

Abstract: A method of transferring a profile by an electronic device and an electronic device supporting the same are provided. The electronic device includes a secure memory that installs and deletes at least one profile, a profile manager module that performs an authentication procedure about a target electronic device based on device information of the target electronic device and profile information of a target profile, when a profile transfer event about a target profile of the at least one profile installed on the secure memory occurs, and a communication interface that transfers the target profile based on an authentication result about the target electronic device.

Abstract: A wireless communication system for performing a handover to a femto base station is provided. The system includes user equipment, a femto subscriber information storage, a core network entity or a macro base station or a serving base station. The femto subscriber information storage stores a list of femto base stations that allows the access of user equipment, i.e., an accessible list. The core network entity or the macro base station receives and stores the accessible list. When any of the user equipment requests a handover toward a femto base station as a target base station, and the target base station is included in the accessible list stored, the core network entity or the macro base station requests a handover toward the target base station. A method for performing a handover to the core network entity and the macro base station is also provided.

Abstract: A method and system in which upon occurrence of a P-CSCF failure, a network sends an IMS reregistration request message to a UE. An S-CSCF or an AS monitors a P-CSCF to detect occurrence of a failure in the P-CSCF. Upon detecting the occurrence of a P-CSCF failure, the S-CSCF or the AS sends a request message for IMS reregistration to the UEs being served by the failed P-CSCF. In this manner, the UE can continuously receive the service even though a failure occurs in the P-CSCF.
