  • Publication number: 20090324065
Abstract: An image in which at least one color component among a plurality of color components in an input color image has a resolution lower than that of the other color components is held as a base image. A rectangular region that includes an object image is extracted, a region of the object image and a region of a background image are specified in the rectangular region, and fill-up processing of the specified object image is executed in the base image. Fill-up processing executed at a boundary between the object image and the base image differs from fill-up processing executed at a boundary between the object image and the background image.

  • Publication number: 20090324080
Abstract: Character code data and vector drawing data are both listed and provided in a re-editable manner. Electronic data is generated in which information obtained by vectorizing character areas in an image and information obtained by recognizing characters in the image are stored in respective storage locations. As for the electronic data generated in this manner, because character code data and vector drawing data generated from the input image are both presented by a display and edit program, a user can immediately utilize the both data.

  • Publication number: 20090304304
Abstract: An image processing device is provided which generates an easily reusable electronic document from an input image in which different page sizes are mixed. The image processing device generates a plurality of pieces of display information from a plurality of document images, and, depending on the size and the direction of each of the images, converts the pieces of display information into electronic documents. That is, the plurality of pieces of display information are divided into a plurality of groups, depending on the size and the direction of each of the images, and the display information included in each of the groups is converted into a separate electronic document. Further, sequence information based on the input order of the plurality of document images is stored on an electronic document.

  • Publication number: 20080244456
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes an area display unit configured to display a metadata area including metadata values arrayed for each metadata item and unique areas defined for respective metadata values, an icon display unit configured to display an icon associated with main body data and enabling a user to add the metadata, and an adding unit operable if the displayed icon is moved to a position on the metadata area and configured to add information defining a unique area to which the position of the moved icon belongs, as metadata, to main body data associated with the icon.

  • Publication number: 20070055885
Abstract: A method is provided that enables verification of whether a component of original image data has been altered at the location at which the component is to be reused without newly generating a signature. More specifically, the method includes inputting first document data including a plurality of components and signature information corresponding to the components, selecting at least one component from among the components, and extracting signature information corresponding to the at least one selected component. The method further includes storing the at least one selected component and the signature information corresponding to the at least one selected component in a memory, and generating second document data by pasting the at least one stored component and the stored signature information into a document selected as a paste location.

  • Publication number: 20070047814
Abstract: A document includes a region with a high character recognition ratio, and that with not so high a character recognition ratio. Hence, even when identical types of information are provided because they have the same attribute, it is hard to say that satisfactory information provision can be made. Also, different kinds of information are required depending on output methods. To solve these problems, output information to be output for each region is determined based on information of an output destination of a document image and attributes of respective regions in the document image, and pieces of output information to be output are combined to be output to the output destination. The output information to be output for each region may be determined based on the information of the output destination of the document image, the attributes of the respective regions in the document image, and user's authority information.

  • Publication number: 20070040901
Abstract: Photographs a predetermined action performed to an object with an appliance by a photographing device, and records it as video data. When a desired object is specified while the video data is being played back, the object is identified based on information on a position of the object in the appliance and a time the object acted, and operation authority of a user against the identified object is determined. Predetermined operation is enabled to be executed against the predetermined object according to the result of the determination.
