  • Publication number: 20070211202
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates, a plurality of seals arranged in a sealing area located around a display area in which an image is displayed through the liquid crystal layer, and two sealing portions each connecting ends of the seals to seal the space. The seals extend along the sealing area on the first substrate. The adjacent seals are disposed with a space therebetween in the direction from the center of the display area to the periphery thereof. The seals join the first substrate to the second substrate.

  • Patent number: 5944405
Abstract: A flat light source used as back-lighting for a liquid crystal display device includes an optically conductive plate (1) having a light reflecting layer (2), and a light source (3). A light-diffusing sheet (8) is provided outside the optically conductive plate (1) opposite to the light reflecting layer (2). A lens sheet (4) is provided outside the light-diffusing sheet (8), with a transmission type of display element (6) provided on the outer side of the lens sheet (4). The light-diffusing sheet (8) is formed of a transparent material free from light-diffusing agent particles and has minute irregularities (41) formed at random on the front surface thereof. The irregularities are of a surface roughness that is at least the wavelength of the light from the light source, but is no more than 100 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 5908476
Abstract: For producing an abrasive tape (11) including a film substrate (2) and a polishing abrasive layer (10) laminated on one surface of the film substrate (2) and having on the outer surface thereof a plurality of recessed parts (9), the film substrate (2) is wrapped partially around the outer peripheral surface of a roll formplate (1) having on the surface thereof a plurality of concavities (5), and, as the roll formplate (1) is rotated, the film substrate (2) is fed thereto. On one hand, an ionizing radiation curing type resin (3) is supplied into the interface between the roll formplate (1) and the film substrate (2) therearound to be formed by the concavities (5), and the recessed parts (9) are formed on the resin surface. During this forming, radiation rays (R) are projected from an ionizing radiation ray source (8) toward the resin (3) thereby to cure the resin (3) and, at the same time, to render the resin (3) and the film substrate (2) into an integral structure.

  • Patent number: 4871503
Abstract: A process for producing 2 press molded laminate including at least two theromplastic resin layers and an ink pattern layer, wherein inner unevenness is provided on the interface of the thermoplastic resin layers tuned with the ink pattern, wherein the unevenness can be viewed through at least one of the surfaces of the press molded laminate. The molded product visually provides stereoscopic appearance due to tuning the inner unevenness with the ink pattern.

  • Patent number: 4505968
Abstract: A resinous flooring sheet is obtained by laminating successively on a light-shielding resinous base sheet (1), a transparent synthetic resin intermediate layer (2), a light-shielding ink pattern (3) and an overcoat transparent synthetic resin layer (4). This flooring sheet can impart abundant three-dimensional or visual depth impression through the optical path difference between the reflected light from the light-shielding ink pattern (3) and the reflected light from the light-shielding synthetic resinous base sheet (1) as well as through the shading of the light-shielding pattern (3) projected through the transparent synthetic resin intermediate layer (2) on the light-shielding synthetic resinous base sheet (1).

  • Patent number: 4482598
Abstract: A transfer sheet comprising a releasable substrate and a heat-foamable pattern, and preferably a further foaming inhibiting pattern formed thereon is prepared, and these patterns are transferred onto a foamable resin layer such as a polyvinyl chloride plastisol containing a blowing agent. The entire structure is heated, whereupon there is obtained a decorative article in which a resin layer, as a whole, has foamed, and at the same time, at the parts where the foamable resin pattern has been transferred, projecting convex parts are formed by the foaming of the heat-foamable pattern, while depressed concave parts are formed at parts onto which the foaming inhibiting pattern has been transferred.
