  • Publication number: 20220010162
Abstract: A resin composition containing a polyvinyl alcohol resin, wherein there are two different components when methylene carbon at 44 to 46 ppm is separated into components according to a 13C spin-lattice relaxation time T1C, one of the two different components having a relaxation time T1C of not greater than 50 seconds as observed when the resin composition is analyzed through solid-state NMR measurement by placing a 4-mm ? zirconia rotor filled with the resin composition in a 9.4-T static magnetic field at a 1H resonance frequency of 400 MHz and a 13C resonance frequency of 100 MHz, and rotating the zirconia rotor at 5,000 Hz at 23° C. under magic angle spinning conditions. The resin composition is excellent in gas barrier property, particularly in oxygen barrier property, in a high humidity environment.

  • Patent number: 11161970
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an EVOH resin-based composition (pellet) which has a desired melt viscosity without increasing the boron content, thereby being effective for surging prevention; and a method for producing the resin composition. The EVOH-based resin composition contains a boric acid compound and the boric acid compound contains tetracoordinated boron. An EVOH-based resin paste containing a boric acid compounds is brought into contact with an aqueous solution containing a boric acid compound and alkali metal salt at an elevated temperature and an elevated pressure so that the amount of alkali metal salt is from 300 to 1000 ppm based on the EVOH-based resin paste, thereby converting the boron of the boric acid compound to tetracoordinated structure.

  • Publication number: 20180016430
Abstract: The present invention relates to a resin composition having gas barrier properties, which has excellent low-temperature characteristics and resistance to hydrogen brittleness without greatly detracting from gas barrier properties, and which can contribute to improve durability when used as a resin tube for high-pressure gas or as a resin liner for a composite container. Provided is an EVOH resin composition comprising: a fluororesin (A) having a functional group capable of interacting, or reacting, with a hydroxyl group; a thermoplastic resin (B) having a carboxyl group or an acid anhydride group (however, the fluororesin (A) and a saponified ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer (EVOH) having a carboxyl group or an acid anhydride group are excluded); and an EVOH (C).

  • Publication number: 20150140247
Abstract: Disclosed is a high-pressure gas hose or storage vessel comprising at least one layer of a resin composition comprising (A) 1,2-diol in a side chain-containing vinyl alcohol-based resin, and (B) fluororesin having polar functional group capable of reacting with or forming hydrogen bond(s) with hydroxyl group. The gas-barrier layer comprising the resin composition has a favorable wettability of the interface between the component (A) and the component (B), and therefore the gas-barrier layer exhibits high level gas-barrier property without causing blister under the condition of high pressure of not only oxygen or air but also small molecule gas such as hydrogen. Furthermore, the gas barrier layer has superior flexibility and superior durability with respect to changes accompanying the supply and removal of high-pressure gas.
