  • Patent number: 5981046
Abstract: A sound absorbing component contains a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin expanded body having a percentage of void being not less than 50 vol %, and a resin molded body. An air layer is provided between the fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin expanded body and the resin molded body. This sound absorbing component can effectively absorb the sound especially in the frequency region of 500 to 3000 Hz corresponding to the exterior noise problematic in automobiles, even if it is lightweight and thin.

  • Patent number: 5854149
Abstract: As a paper-made stampable sheet having a high rigidity and, if necessary, improved adhesiveness and non-permeability and a light weight stampable sheet shaped body made from this sheet and a method of producing the same, there are proposed a paper-made stampable sheet obtained by paper-making a mixture of thermoplastic resin and reinforcing fibers to obtain a sheet-like web, piling a thermoplastic resin film of a single layer or multi layer or an organic fiber nonwoven fabric having at least one excellent property selected from rigidity, non-permeability and adhesiveness on at least one-side surface of the sheet-like web in accordance with use purpose, compressing them under heating above a melting point of the thermoplastic resin constituting the web, cooling and solidifying at a compressed state as well as a light weight stampable sheet shaped body made from this sheet and a method of producing the same.

  • Patent number: 5463212
Abstract: In order to provide a latent image forming member which is capable of surely reading information to have high reliability and which can be used for a long time, the latent image forming member comprises a base (4a), and an information indication layer (2) formed on the base (4a) and having a latent image pattern, in which fluorescent grains are dispersed and held, so that the information indication layer (2) is irradiated with light having a predetermined wavelength to excite the fluorescent grains and luminescent light information from the fluorescent grains is optically read, wherein reflectance of a surface of the base (4a) with respect to light having the predetermined wavelength is 20% or higher, a projection amount T of the information indication layer 2 from the top surface of the base (4a) is restricted to a range of 0.5 to 20 .mu.m, and a protection sheet (6a) is laminated onto the base (4a) as to cover all over the information indication layer (2).

  • Patent number: 4988492
Abstract: This invention provides a method for infusibilization of pitch fibers for production of carbon fibers which comprises putting pitch fibers prepared by melt spinning from a spinning pitch in containers, introducing in succession the containers containing the pitch fibers into an infusibilizing furnace divided into a plurality of sections and passing the containers therethrough from inlet to outlet wherein the containers containing the pitch fibers are intermittently moved through the infusiblizing furnace to retain each of the containers in respective sections for a given period of time, during which temperature of respective sections is independently raised from minimum controlled temperature to maximum controlled temperature and thereafter is lowered to the minimum controlled temperature and then the container is moved.
