  • Patent number: 8190072
Abstract: A developing device includes a container storing a two-component developer including a toner and a carrier, a toner carrying body carrying the toner in the container and supplying the toner to a predetermined image carrying body by rotation, a restricting member held in press contact with the toner carrying body, and a restricting nip section formed between the toner carrying body and the restricting member. The restricting nip section selects only the toner in the two-component developer to form a uniform toner layer on the toner carrying body.

  • Patent number: 7437103
Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a toner ejection mode whereby toner stored in a black developing container is completely removed from the developing container by rotating a rotary developing unit at a specific timing and using gravity and the centrifugal force that acts on the toner stored in the black developing container due to this rotation, or using the vibration that acts on the black developing container when the rotation is stopped. In this toner ejection mode, the toner is ejected from the developing container of the rotary developing unit, an image for a single sheet of recording paper is formed on the surface of a photoreceptor drum, and the toner constituting the image transferred onto the surface of an intermediate transfer belt by the photoreceptor drum is then recovered by a belt-cleaning unit.

  • Patent number: 7340205
Abstract: In image formation of a black-line image, the image is developed with black toner, and in addition parts of the black-line image corresponding to an intersection between at least two black lines and a middle portion of a black line are developed with toner of at least one of cyan, yellow, and magenta colors overlaid. This makes it possible to prevent central voids in a black-line image. In a black-line image transferred onto a transfer medium by this full-color image forming apparatus, not only are central voids eliminated, but degradation of image quality is also prevented.

  • Patent number: 5991586
Abstract: A developing device which regulates the amount of developer transported on a developing sleeve via a regulating member constructed as a magnetic member, so as to not have large fluctuation in the amount of developer transported by a developing sleeve to a developing region even when there is dislocation in the install position of the regulating member, and which produces excellent images having stable density without image noise.

  • Patent number: 5038176
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having plural developing devices, comprising: a photosensitive member arranged rotatably in one direction and holding an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original image; a developing sleeve rotatably arranged in each developing device at a position confronting said photosensitive member to transport a developer; a device for simultaneously driving for rotation of each of said developing sleeves in said developing devices; and an adjusting mechanism for adjusting operation of said developing devices so that in a region where said developing sleeves confront with said photosensitive member, a developer packaged density (F) in said developing device arranged at an upstream side in a rotational direction of said member is larger than that of said developing device arranged at a downstream side in the rotational direction of said member, which isF=Vd/Ds,where Vd is an amount of the developer passing between said developing sleeve and said photosensitive member per hour, and

  • Patent number: 4845524
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method, using an electrophotographic system, including a first process of transferring the image of an original document to a copy sheet and a second process of transferring a half-tone solid on a specified region of the image on the copy sheet transferred at the first process. Accordingly, for example, when a copy sheet is white, a black toner is used in the first image forming process, and a white toner is used in the second image forming process, a white half-tone solid of the white toner is superimposed on the black toner image. As a result, the black toner image formed on the specified region looks soft half-tone.
