Patent number: 6706213Abstract: A novel phosphor represented by the general formula (Gd1-y-zCeyScz)3Al5-dGadO12 (wherein y, z and d are values falling in the ranges of 0.0005≦y≦0.05, 0<z≦0.03 and 0<d<5) is provided by adding scandium (Sc) to a phosphor represented by the general formula of (Gd1-yCey)3Al5-dGadO12 (wherein y and d are values falling in the ranges of 0.0005≦y≦0.02 and 0<d<5). The phosphor has a high luminous efficiency and a very small afterglow. A radiation detector using this phosphor as ceramic scintillator is capable of obtaining a high luminous output and suitable for a radiation detector of X-ray CT because of its high luminous output and a very small afterglow.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2002Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: Hitachi Medical CorporationInventors: Hiromichi Yamada, Tsuneyuki Kanai, Takaaki Kobiki, Ichiro Miura, Makoto Sato, Minoru Yoshida

Patent number: 6590953Abstract: The rotary member carrying the X-ray radiation unfit and the X-ray detection unit and rotated around a subject is used as the rotor. The rotor is provided with a rotor core and a plurality of conductors connected to the core. The stator has at least one set of stator core and stator winding, the at least one set of stator core and stator winding being adapted to clamp the rotor and arranged at opposing positions. A three-phase AC current is supplied to the stator winding to generate a rotating magnetic field to rotate the rotor and thereby rotate the rotary member at high speed. Because the scan time can be reduced, the X-ray CT scanner can scan such moving organs as heart.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 2001Date of Patent: July 8, 2003Assignee: Hitachi Medical CorporationInventors: Tsutomu Suzuki, Hiroshi Takano, Eiichi Makino, Takaaki Kobiki, Akira Kurome

Patent number: 6458295Abstract: A novel phosphor represented by the general formula (Gd1−xCex)3Al5−yGayO12 (wherein x and y are values falling in the ranges of 0.0005≦x≦0.02, and 0<y<5.) was provided. The phosphor has a high luminous efficiency when Al and Ga are coexistent in the Gd-system phosphor. In particular, the phosphor with the Ga content (y) in the range of 2-3 has a luminous efficiency of twice the conventional phosphor. A radiation detector using this phosphor as ceramic scintillator is capable of obtaining a high luminous output and a very small afterglow.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2000Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: Hitachi Medical CorporationInventors: Hiromichi Yamada, Makoto Sato, Ichiro Miura, Motomichi Doi, Takaaki Kobiki
