  • Patent number: 9248788
Abstract: An information processing apparatus for operating a vehicle, when the vehicle is running, and an application is instructed through voice. An in-running operation acceptance/denial list is produced, i.e., a list of words meaning an operation to be inhibited from being executed during the time when the vehicle is running. A command acceptance/denial executing portion of the onboard apparatus determines if the command corresponding to the content, which a user speaks, can be operated or not, during the time when the vehicle is running, by referring this list and a title of the command operable through voices included in the application, and when the vehicle is running, an execution of that command is instructed to an application controller portion, if being determined operable, by referring to a running condition of the vehicle, and if being determined inoperable, the execution of that command is not instructed to the application controller portion.

  • Patent number: 9218812
Abstract: The technique is implemented by a vehicular device for performing dialogs with the driver. This device has: a communication portion for communicating with a server; an output portion for outputting speech information to the driver; an input portion for inputting information based on speech uttered by the driver; and a controller for controlling the communication portion, the output portion, and the input portion. When trigger information for starting a dialog process in the vehicular device or in the server is generated, the controller receives information indicative of the type of a first dialog forming a starting point of the dialog process and information indicative of the type of a second dialog forming an ending point of the dialog process from the server and carries out the dialog process based on the received information. The second dialog is different in type from the first dialog.

  • Publication number: 20150298548
Abstract: When a browser is displayed on an in-vehicle information processing device, an appropriate display screen is displayed according to a driving state of a vehicle. While moving, web content is processed based on a restriction rule so that a moving image or the like is not reproduced. Further, when an operation of switching a display from another application other than the browser to the browser or an operation of switching a display to another web content on the browser is input to an in-vehicle terminal, the driving state of the vehicle is determined. In a state in which the vehicle stops, web content is displayed without change, and in a state in which the vehicle is moving, when processed web content is being stored, the processed web content is read and displayed, and when processed web content is not being stored, web content is read, processed based on the restriction rule, and then displayed.

  • Publication number: 20150100556
Abstract: When compressing an arrangement of fixed-length records in a columnar direction, a data compression device carries out data compression aligned with the performance of a data decompression device by computing a number of rows processed with one columnar compression from the performance on the decompression device side, such as the memory cache capacity of the decompression device or the capacity of a primary storage device which may be used by an application, and the size of one record. Thus, while improving compression ratios of large volumes of data, including an alignment of a plurality of fixed-length records, decompression performance is improved.

  • Publication number: 20140242969
Abstract: A program manager operating on a smartphone transmits information of an onboard apparatus and a program ID list of the smartphone to the server. The server determines the possibility of an expansion of one or more programs, and the difference between charge/free provisioning of the program. If a function expansion condition of the program is met, the server transmits it to the smartphone. The program manager of the smartphone inquires as to possibility/impossibility of expansion, and a password (when there is a charge), and transmits the authentication information and the password (if there is a charge), which are produced from an onboard apparatus ID, a random number, secret data unique to the onboard apparatus, etc., to the server. The server transmits function expansion data to the smartphone, when succeeding the authentication, and the program management portion executes the function expansion of the program.

  • Publication number: 20070160199
Abstract: A copy control apparatus is provided in one-to-one correspondence with a car navigation system. Connection of the copy control apparatus with an information processing apparatus such as a PC enables to transmit content only from the information processing apparatus to which the copy control apparatus is connected to the car navigation system. With this configuration, the copy control apparatus stores a device key used to encrypt the content, and encrypts the device key with another encryption key to transmit the encrypted device key to the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus encrypts a copy of the content by use of the received device key, and then sends the encrypted copy to a content receiving apparatus. The content receiving apparatus decrypts the received copy of the content by use of a stored device key, and then stores the decrypted copy of the content in a storage unit.

  • Publication number: 20070079121
Abstract: A license management device receives a license issued by a license issuing device. The license management device transmits the received license to a navigation system for receiving the license, and stores the received license in a memory device. When the license to be acquired cannot be acquired, the navigation system requests the license issuing device to send the license. The license management device reads the license from the memory device, and transmits the license to the navigation system.

  • Publication number: 20030177261
Abstract: A destination-of-movement candidate acquiring unit of a user terminal selects one of a plurality of storage systems, which has a shorter response time. A destination-of-movement candidate adding unit of the user terminal adds, to an access request, destination-of-movement candidate information specifying the selected one storage system. A destination-of-movement candidate managing unit of an origin-of-movement storage system manages frequency of the access request from the user terminal for each candidate for the destination of movement. When the frequency of the access request exceeds a predetermined value, the destination-of-movement candidate managing unit instructs a file system interface to read data and then move the read data to the candidate for the destination-of movement-for which the frequency of the access request has exceeded the predetermined value. As a result, the user terminal is able to access the storage system having a shorter response time.

  • Patent number: 5172149
Abstract: A drive apparatus for driving an optical system of a camera in directions along an optical axis of the optical system through an electric motor. The drive apparatus is equipped with a manual ring provided in a housing of the optical system so as to be manually rotatable about the optical axis of the optical system. The manual ring is fixedly secured to a rotatable plate having a plurality of tooth portions. Also included in the drive apparatus is a rotation detector arranged to be associated with the plurality of tooth portions of the rotatable plate so as to detect the rotation of the manual ring to output a detection signal indicative of the rotation information of the manual ring. A control section is responsive to the detection signal from the rotation detector so as to output a control signal to the electric motor so that the optical system is driven at a speed corresponding to the frequency of the detection signal therefrom.
