  • Patent number: 6655297
Abstract: In a transfer system using movable bodies supported and guided by a rail through a plurality of guided devices so that they are capable of moving in a given path, when a movable body taken out from the given path is transferred to a separate given path or restored to the original given path, the movable body needs be separated or joined while being longitudinally moved, thus requiring a long path for separating or joining. The invention provides a system comprising a group of guided devices relatively turnably connected to main bodies of the movable bodies through vertical shafts, a plurality of divisional rail bodies capable of supporting the group of guided devices and disposed in a set path portion in the given path, turning means for turning these divisional rail bodies around vertical axes, and a group of transverse rail bodies disposed laterally of the set path portion such that the divisional rail bodies turned for separation from the rail can be connected.

  • Publication number: 20030001101
Abstract: An Ag film as a light-reflecting film is formed on one surface of an a-C substrate of a scintillator panel. The entire surface of the Ag film is covered with an SiN film for protecting the Ag film. A scintillator having a columnar structure, which converts an incident radiation into visible light, is formed on the surface of the SiN film. The scintillator is covered with a polyparaxylylene film together with the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6494142
Abstract: A conveyor comprises a plurality of carriages 2, each including a deck 7 having a friction surface 20a for a primary drive, which is formed on or near one side of the deck 7, and is parallel to the direction in which the carriages travel. Each carriage also includes a bar 10 fitted on the underside of the deck 7 and extending on the centerline of the deck. The bar 10 has a friction surface 21a for a secondary drive. The travel path includes a linear primary travel line 1 and a secondary travel line 5 for carriage return. A primary drive 3, is arranged for contact with the friction surfaces 20a. The secondary travel line 5 is fitted with a plurality of drives 6A and 6B at intervals, for secondary propulsion in the return direction.

  • Patent number: 6078302
Abstract: A screen-illuminating panel for a backlit LCD is intermittently adjusted to an optimal brightness level varying depending on ambient illumination at predetermined time intervals. The screen-illuminating panel is driven to hold the optimal brightness level while the screen-illuminating panel is not adjusted, a timer is used to detect a lapse of a time period to produce a timing signal after a trigger signal is received, and a power controller supplies power for brightness adjustment when the timing signal is received from the timer and outputs the trigger signal to the timer when the screen-illuminating panel has been adjusted.

  • Patent number: 4272162
Abstract: A guest-host liquid crystal display device which employs a pleochroic liquid crystal mixture having helical molecular ordering. To prevent the occurrence of a light-scattering turbid texture the helical molecular ordering is converted into a miss-matching state of an increased strain energy by a proper combination of surface alignment treatments applied to the facing surfaces of a pair of transparent plates that sandwich the liquid crystal layer.

  • Patent number: 4257682
Abstract: A liquid crystal color display cell utilizing a Guest-host effect and capable of displaying at least two colors whose color phases are different from each other. The cell comprises a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between a pair of opposed substrates and composed of liquid crystal molecules inclined at an angle within a range between 60.degree. and 90.degree. with respect to each of the substrates. The inclination of the liquid crystal molecules is aligned in one direction and the liquid crystal molecules have a twisted construction between the substrates.
