  • Patent number: 9926013
Abstract: In an automobile vehicle body structure, a steering hanger is formed from a metal pipe on one side in a vehicle width direction and a carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) pipe on the other side in the vehicle width direction, and a steering column is supported on the metal pipe, for ensuring the strength with which the steering column is supported while minimizing any increase in the weight of the steering hanger. The metal pipe is connected to a CFRP linking member connecting an upper part of a dash panel lower and a center tunnel. The collision load of a frontal collision input is transmitted into the dash panel lower to the high strength center tunnel for preventing the dash panel lower from collapsing to the rear while minimizing any increase in the weight, and for enhancing the stiffness of the steering hanger to prevent vibration of the steering column.

  • Patent number: 7618239
Abstract: In a multi-blade fan for an air-cooled engine, by defining the inlet angle ?1 and the angle ??2 to make the sum thereof less than 80° (preferably defining ?1 as 32° and ??2 as 36°), the multi-blade fan achieves greater air volume than in the case where the sum is made 80° or greater, where ?1 is the angle between the relative velocity direction and the peripheral direction on the inlet side of the blades, ?2 is the angle between the relative velocity direction and the peripheral direction on the outlet side of the blades, and ??2 is the difference obtained by subtracting ?2 from 180°. The number of blades can therefore be reduced to realize lower noise level while still maintaining the same air volume as the prior art multi-blade fan.

  • Patent number: 7537000
Abstract: In order to suppress freezing of a water content within a breather tube, a heater (13) is arranged within a breather tube (11) joining a cylinder head cover (10) and an air cleaner (8). A main body of the breather tube (11) is constituted by a joint tube (18) arranged in a middle, and partial tubes (22, 23) connected to both ends thereof. The heater (13) has a heating element (14) corresponding to a heating element, and has a heater case (21) accommodating the heating element (14) in a state of being pinched by electrodes (15), and is arranged in a center portion of the joint 18. A slot (18a) for inserting the heater (13) is formed in the joint tube 18. A heat radiating body (20) extended along the breather tube (11) is joined to the heater case (21). An outer peripheral portion of the breather tube (11) is covered by an insulative outer tube (24).

  • Patent number: 7098629
Abstract: A generator apparatus can provide generated power fit for a connected battery, and even if a load voltage is not within a suitable range, when the load voltage is a certain level or more, the generator can provide power. A selector 25 selects a target voltage for controlling the output voltage of a rectifier 2. An output controller 34 controls the rectifier 2 according to the target. A load judgment section 35 judges the terminal voltage of a battery 19. When the terminal voltage is within an allowable range with respect to the target value, permission for output is given to the output controller 34. When the load voltage is not within the allowable range, an alarm is raised. Even when the alarm is raised, if a load voltage develops which is not less than a predetermined voltage lower than the allowable range, the battery 19 can be charged by forced-output.

  • Patent number: 6730274
Abstract: An exhaust heat exchanger with catalyst to be used in an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine is provided. A catalyst chamber is disposed within a water chamber which a cooling water flows through. An exhaust gas having passed through the catalyst chamber in contact with a catalyst makes an indirect heat exchange with the cooling water before it is discharged outside. The water chamber is formed surrounded by an inner trunk and an outer trunk, and the catalyst chamber is formed by a cylindrical body disposed coaxially with the inner and outer trunks and housing the catalyst. A spiral passage for the exhaust gas is formed between the inner trunk and the cylindrical body. A plurality of heat transmitting pipes are arranged within the water chamber surrounding the inner trunk circumferentially at regular intervals. The exhaust gas having passed through the catalyst flows within the spiral passage and the heat transmitting pipes in turn to make a heat exchange with the cooling water.

  • Patent number: 6435420
Abstract: Since the starting of an engine at a lower temperature is troublesome, the temperature of the engine is measured by a sensor. When the measured temperature is lower than a reference temperature, the pump is first switched on for circulating a thermal medium. This permits the thermal medium to transfer heat of the hot water stored in a hot water storage tank to the engine, hence warming the engine, decreasing the viscosity of the oil, and preventing the generation of dew in the engine to ease the start up of the engine.

  • Patent number: 5799640
Abstract: A fuel feed device for a gas engine includes a thermally insulated cartridge case for receiving therein a disposable gas cylinder or cartridge. The cartridge case has a built-in temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the gas cartridge, and a built-in electric heater for heating the gas cartridge. The electric heater is controlled such that the temperature detected by the temperature sensor is kept within a predetermined temperature range. A working machine driven by the gas engine is also disclosed.
