Abstract: [Problem] To provide a solid imaging apparatus that is able to shorten the time from the detection of an object to the completion of imaging processing. [Solution] A solid imaging apparatus includes a control unit that controls a shutter operation for a pixel area having a plurality of pixels arranged in matrix, and a reading operation from the pixel area at a first reading speed and a second reading speed. The control unit starts the shutter operation for at least one row of the pixel area after the reading operation at the first reading speed is completed, and during execution of detection processing of an object read from the pixel area.
