Patent number: 4744236Abstract: Double-stem type extrusion method and apparatus used for extrusion-molding rod-like and tubular products. In order to upset a solid or hollow billet (5, 5A) supplied to a container (1), the end of the container (1) which is on the side of a press stem (6) is closed with a blistering-preventing cover (11) which is not moved relatively to the container (1). A pressure is then applied to the billet (5, 5A) from the side of a die (8) to start the yield deformation thereof from the same side thereof. As the yield deformation movement of the billet (5, 5A) progresses, the air existing between the inner surface of the container and billet (5, 5A) is discharged from the portion of the container (1) which is on the side of the cover (11).Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1985Date of Patent: May 17, 1988Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha KobeseikoshoInventors: Akira Asari, Masakazu Ueda, Takahisa Tabuchi, Munenori Soejima, Toshio Kurosaki, Masaru Sugamoto

Patent number: 4696176Abstract: A pullback type indirect extrusion press capable of extruding a tubular article, the press including first and second movable platens connected to each other by columns, the movable platens being arranged in front of and behind a fixed platen, a mechanism for producing a extruding force provided above and below or the left and right between the fixed platen and the first movable platen, and a container device and a die stem arranged between the fixed platen and the second movable platen. A piercing cylinder mechanism is provided on the axis of the press on the side of the non-extrusion zone, the piercing cylinder mechanism being provided independently of the mechanism for producing the extruding force.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1986Date of Patent: September 29, 1987Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Kobe Seiko ShoInventors: Akira Asari, Takahisa Tabuchi

Patent number: 4443143Abstract: A billet scalper including a die assembly with a scalping die, a pressing mechanism with a stem member in axial alignment with the scalping die for pressing a billet thereinto, and a chip ejector located around the circumference of the scalping die and movable axially back and forth beyond a free end face of the scalping die to remove chips therefrom. The die assembly including the scalping die is movable between a position at the center of the scalper and an outer receded position to permit easy maintenance and service of the die assembly including replacements and cleaning of scalping dies. In a preferred form, the scalper is constructed integrally with an extrusion press to perform the billet scalping operation in timed relation with the extruding operation to shorten the time of press cycle.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1982Date of Patent: April 17, 1984Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha Kobe Seiko ShoInventors: Akira Asari, Tatsuhiko Noyori, Hidehiro Tsuzuki, Takahisa Tabuchi, Tsuneharu Masuda, Tetsuro Takehata, deceased
