  • Patent number: 5587274
Abstract: Disclosed is a positive type resist composition which can form a good pattern by subjecting a resist layer to plural exposures and developments, which results in excellent adhesion between the resist layer and a substrate. The composition comprises:(a) a polymer having an acid value of 2 to 200, prepared from 20 to 94% by weight of a t-butyl ester of a .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, 5 to 79% by weight of a (meth)acrylate of the formula:CH.sub.2 .dbd.C(R.sub.1)--COO--(R.sub.2 --O).sub.n --R.sub.3 Iwherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a methyl group, R.sub.2 represents ##STR1## wherein R.sub.4 represents hydrogen or an alkyl group, R.sub.5 represents hydrogen or an alkyl group, R.sub.6 represents a branched or straight chain alkylene group, provided that a total carbon number of R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 is 1 to 5, R.sub.3 is an alkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and n is an integer of 1 to 10 and 1 to 75% by weight of another .alpha.,.beta.

  • Patent number: 5439582
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved process for producing a multicolor display by which a color filter having neither coloring failure nor size failure is obtained. The present invention provides a process comprising:(I) a photosensitive resin layer formed on an electric conductive layer is exposed to light through a mask having a desired pattern which is placed on the photosensitive resin layer, and developed to bare partially the surface of the electric conductive layer;(II) a colored layer is formed on the bared surface of the electric conductive layer by an electrodepositing process; and(III) the above steps (I) and (II) are repeated desired times and then the remaining photosensitive resin layer is eluted with a removing solution which preferentially or selectively dissolves the photosensitive layer, to bare the remaining surface of the electric conductive layer.

  • Patent number: 5384226
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for producing toner particles having small particle size and small particle size distribution which uniformly contain a polyolefin wax in high yield by a simple process. That is, according to the present invention, there is provided a process for producing a toner which comprises dissolving or dispersing a polymerizable composition comprising:(I) a vinyl monomer,(II) an acrylic resin-grafted polyolefin, and(III) a colorantin a dispersion solvent and then polymerizing it, wherein no resin deposition occurs when the acrylic resin-grafted polyolefin (II) is dissolved or dispersed in a mixed solution of one volume of the vinyl monomer (I) and two or more volumes of the dispersion solvent.

  • Patent number: 5190844
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved process for producing organic particles (e.g. toner particles) having uniform charge controlling coating and excellent charge controlling effect. In the process, a dispersion comprising the organic particles (A), a specific compound (B) forming insoluble substances upon reacting with an insolubilizer (D) and a dispersing medium is prepared and then reacted with the insolubilizer (D).
