  • Patent number: 5301181
Abstract: Information reproduced and output from an information reproduction device such as a CD player is recorded and thereby copied by an information recording device such as a cassette deck. Once a desired dubbing has been completed, the recording medium such as a CD accommodated in the information reproducing device is automatically discharged.

  • Patent number: 5216644
Abstract: An information recording apparatus such as a CD player successively plays back portions of pieces of information, such as musical information, recorded in respective information storage mediums, such as CDs, over a predetermined period of time in a disc highlight scanning mode, and also successively plays back portions of the pieces of information recorded in any one of the information storage mediums in a track highlight scanning mode. The information recording apparatus has a system controller for selecting one, at a time, of the disc and track highlight scanning modes in response to a signal from a scan key of an input keyboard. Specifically, the system controller selects the disc highlight scanning mode in response to a signal from the scan key, and thereafter selects the track highlight scanning mode in response to another signal from the scan key.

  • Patent number: 5195075
Abstract: An output level controlling apparatus comprises: a signal attenuating device for attenuating the reproduced output level of a reading/recording signal read from a record medium; a signal level deciding device for comparing the reproduced output level of the reading/recording signal to a reference signal level previously set; and an output level correcting device for sending a control signal to the signal attenuating device on the basis of the results of the comparison made by the signal level deciding device so as to attenuate the reproduced output level of the reading/recording signal when a reproduced output level is higher than the signal level of the reference signal and so as to decrease an attenuation amount of the reproduced output signal level of the reading/recording signal when the reproduced output signal level is lower than the signal level of the reference signal wherein the output level correcting device sends the control signal so as to rapidly attenuate the reproduced output level of the readi

  • Patent number: 5126987
Abstract: In CDs, LVDs, DATs and so forth, reproduction is made from a section after a fixed time (a fixed number of tracks) lapse from the head rather than reproducing from the head of a plurality of information pieces. In these intermediate sections are entered, for example, vocals, and therefore the operator can select a desired information piece easily.

  • Patent number: 5051973
Abstract: A method for performing playbacks of pieces of music recorded on recording media, in which a subsequent piece of music to be played back is randomly selected among pieces of music which do not correspond to any playback-inhibition identification numbers nor any playback-completion identification numbers both of which have been already stored in a memory. The memory includes two regions "A" and "B", in which "A" are stored the playback-completion identification numbers, and in which "b" are stored the playback-inhibition identification numbers.

  • Patent number: 5019922
Abstract: A recording medium reproduction device with automatic volume control which retrieves the current reproducing level in response to a reproducing level memory command and is maintained in memory in a location corresponding to discriminating information for a recording medium is provided. During reproduction, the stored reproduction level corresponding to a recording medium to be played is read out and set based on the discriminating information.

  • Patent number: 4993008
Abstract: A multiple-disk player which detects a time period during which for the player operates in the non-playback mode after the playback start command is issued and calculates a time period value on the basis of the difference between the current value of the time information datum read out of the disk and its preceding value; the detected non-playback mode time period is added to the playback time period to produce the total time period; and performs a fade-out operation for music being played back when such total time period reaches a given allowable time period. Consequently, it is possible to quickly and accurately check the fade-out operation even before all the pieces of music to be played back are actually played back.

  • Patent number: 4942567
Abstract: A disk reproducing method, such as may be used with a compact disk or video disk, in which playing can be quickly restored following track flow caused, for example, by an external shock applied to the player. The disk is rotated with a spindle motor, the rotation of which is controlled with a first servo circuit. Data recorded on the disk is reproduced with a pickup. Tracking of the pickup is controlled with a second servo circuit. The pickup is driven with a slider motor radially of the disk. Rotation of the slider motor is controlled with a third servo circuit. When the first servo circuit is maintained unlocked for a predetermined period of time, the second and third servo circuits are turned off for a predetermined period of time, and then turned back on.

  • Patent number: 4928044
Abstract: A spindle motor stop control device applies a reverse torque braking force to the spindle motor to effect stopping of the motor. A speed detector detects when the number of rotation of the motor has slowed to 1/n of a predetermined number of rotation and issues a detection signal. The time period beginning with the application of the reverse torque braking force until the issuance of the detection signal is measured. Then, a time period t=T/(n-1) is calculated and the reverse torque braking force is continued for the time, t, and then removed.

  • Patent number: 4843484
Abstract: An information recording disc having a first recording area carrying a digital signal, a second recording area carrying a frequency modulated video signal and a superimposed digital signal, the first and second recording areas respectively having a lead-in area in which index codes relating to the contents of each recording area and including identification information indicating the recording area to which each index code belongs are recorded mixedly. In playing such a recording disc, index codes read from the lead-in area are classified according to the recording area to which each index code belongs, and stored in corresponding memory areas of a memory device, so that the index codes stored in the memory area corresponding to a designated recording area can be retreived in a short time for playing information, and the playing operation is controlled by using the retrieved index codes.

  • Patent number: 4761692
Abstract: A method and apparatus for playback of a data recording disc which contains a CD area in which a signal such as an audio signal is recorded in digital form and a video area in which a FM-modulated video signal is recorded with a digital audio signal superimposed thereon. The position of a data detection point of a pickup is monitored, and the equalization and amplifier gain of components of a digital demodulation system are automatically changed in accordance with playback being executed of the CD area or the video area, so that a single demodulation system is used for both digital signals from the CD area and digital signals from the video area. In addition, the frequency characteristics of components in servo systems which control the spindle motor, pickup carriage, etc. of the apparatus are automatically changed over for CD area and video area playback respectively, to provide stable servo control in spite of the high speed of rotation during video data playback.
