  • Patent number: 10563599
Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine includes an exhaust gas passage, an intake passage, a turbocharger, a bypass passage, a waste gate valve, a turbo bypass valve, a throttle valve, and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to control the waste gate valve, the turbo bypass valve, and the throttle valve such that the order of execution of the throttle opening degree increase control and the turbo bypass valve opening degree increase control and the waste gate valve opening degree decrease control is changed depending on the engine load at a point in time when the operation state of the internal combustion engine belongs to the natural aspiration region when the predetermined acceleration request is present.

  • Patent number: 10458348
Abstract: In a control apparatus applied to an internal combustion engine in which when an opening degree of a valve body of a waste gate valve is less than the predetermined opening degree, the extension line intersects a wall surface of an exhaust passage located upstream of the upstream side end face of the exhaust gas purification catalyst, the control apparatus controls the waste gate valve so that at the time of execution of fuel cut off processing, when the temperature of the exhaust gas purification catalyst is less than a predetermined temperature, the valve body is fully closed, whereas when the temperature of the exhaust gas purification catalyst is not less than the predetermined temperature, the opening degree of the valve body is made to a deterioration suppression opening degree which is larger than when the valve body is fully closed and which is smaller than the predetermined opening degree.

  • Patent number: 10415459
Abstract: A warm-up system for an exhaust gas apparatus includes the exhaust gas apparatus having a turbocharger provided with a turbine, a first exhaust gas control catalyst provided downstream of the turbine, a bypass passage bypassing the turbine, and an adjustment unit adjusting a turbine inflow exhaust gas flow rate and an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to perform a warm-up control which warms the turbine by controlling the turbine inflow exhaust gas flow rate, by using the adjustment unit, to reach a flow rate higher than zero and lower than the post-warm-up flow rate when an operating state of the internal combustion engine remains constant, such that a warmed state of the first exhaust gas control catalyst is maintained after the first exhaust gas control catalyst is warmed.

  • Patent number: 10344693
Abstract: A control apparatus for a gasoline engine having a fuel injection means including an in-cylinder injection valve. The control apparatus comprises a controller configured to, when warming up an exhaust gas purification catalyst provided in an exhaust passage provided of the gasoline engine, control the fuel injection means to conduct one or more main injections, control the in-cylinder injection valve to conduct a post injection, perform a retard correction of an ignition timing at which fuel injected by the one or more main injections is ignited, determine an injection quantity by the one or more main injections and an injection quantity by the post injection such that an air-fuel mixture formed in the cylinder by gasoline fuel injected by the one or more main injections has a predetermined lean air-fuel ratio at which a difference between an actual output torque and a required torque is within a predetermined allowable range.

  • Patent number: 10337422
Abstract: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a turbocharger, a bypass passage, a waste gate valve, a turbo bypass valve, an air-fuel ratio sensor and an electronic control unit. The air-fuel ratio sensor is provided in an exhaust passage downstream of a merging point at which the bypass passage merges with the exhaust passage. The electronic control unit is configured to, when a predetermined acceleration request is established and a required opening degree of the turbo bypass valve is larger than a predetermined reference opening degree, execute air-fuel ratio control for changing an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine for a predetermined first period, and close the waste gate valve based on a convergence status of detected air-fuel ratio fluctuations. The detected air-fuel ratio fluctuations are fluctuations in air-fuel ratio that is detected by the air-fuel ratio sensor resulting from the air-fuel ratio control.

  • Patent number: 10100763
Abstract: In a control apparatus for use an internal combustion engine in which warming-up time air fuel ratio control is executed, the air fuel ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the three-way catalyst is changed to an air fuel ratio higher by the predetermined amount, by using as a trigger the timing at which a measured value of an air fuel ratio sensor indicates a rich air fuel ratio. In addition, when the timing at which the measured value of the air fuel ratio sensor indicates the rich air fuel ratio is earlier than a reference timing, the starting-time-rich-air-fuel-ratio in the next and following warming-up time air fuel ratio control is corrected to an air fuel ratio which is higher than that in the current warming-up time air fuel ratio control.

  • Publication number: 20180252142
Abstract: An exhaust passage structure for an engine includes an exhaust-gas catalyst, a bypass passage, a waste gate valve. The exhaust-gas catalyst is disposed in the exhaust passage at downstream of the turbine of the turbocharger. The waste gate valve is disposed in an inlet of the bypass passage. The bypass passage includes a straight port portion disposed such that an axial line of at least a continuous portion including an outlet of the bypass passage is located on the same straight line, and an extended line of the axial line of the straight port portion intersects an upstream-side end surface of the exhaust-gas catalyst.
