  • Patent number: 6401899
Abstract: A parking lock device comprises a parking lock mechanism (12) which locks an output shaft (1A) of a vehicle automatic transmission (1) when a shift lever (18) is changed over to a parking range, and an automatic brake device (14) which brakes the vehicle. When the shift lever (18) is changed over to the parking range at a vehicle speed is not less than a predetermined vehicle speed VSP1, a control unit (15) first operates the automatic brake device (14) to decelerate the vehicle and then operates the parking lock mechanism (12) after the vehicle speed has dropped to less than the predetermined vehicle speed VSP1. By this deceleration, the shock given to the vehicle by locking the output shaft (1A) while the vehicle is running is suppressed. The load of the parking lock mechanism due to the locking of the output shaft (1A) is also alleviated.

  • Publication number: 20020067068
Abstract: A bicycle hub is provided that includes a hub axle, a hub body, a sprocket support member and a spacer. The spacer is movable to allow the hub body to be axially separated from the freewheel without removing the freewheel from the rear fork of the bicycle. The hub axle has a first portion and a second portion releasably coupled to the first portion. The hub body has an outer tubular portion and an interior passageway with the first portion of the hub axle rotatably supported therein. The sprocket support member has a portion releasably and non-rotatably coupled to the outer tubular portion of the hub body. The sprocket support member is mounted on the second portion of the hub axle. The spacer is supported on the first portion of the hub axle adjacent a free end of the hub body. The spacer has a spacing portion and is configured to move in a transverse direction relative to the hub axle between a first position and a second position without removing the first portion of the hub axle from the hub body.

  • Publication number: 20020067069
Abstract: A bicycle hub includs a hub axle, a hub body, a sprocket support member and a spacer. The hub axle has first and second portions threadedly coupled together via a first threaded connection. The hub body has an outer tubular portion and an interior passageway with the first portion of the hub axle rotatably supported therein. The sprocket support member is releasably and non-rotatably coupled to the outer tubular portion and is mounted on the second portion of the hub axle. The spacer is non-rotatably and axially movably supported on the first portion of the hub axle and is threadedly coupled to the hub body via a second threaded connection. The first and second threaded connections are configured such that rotation of the hub axle to release the first and second portions causes the spacer to move axially toward the hub body.

  • Patent number: 6371252
Abstract: A bicycle disc brake hub is provided with a brake rotor attachment portion having an external surface with an external spline section and an annular internal surface with internal threads, and a locking ring having a center tubular section with external threads and an abutment flange extending outwardly from the center tubular section to form an axially facing retaining surface. The external threads of the center tubular section mates with the internal threads of the brake rotor attachment portion to secure a rotor mounting boss and a brake rotor thereto. In one embodiment, the brake rotor is held between the locking ring and the rotor mounting boss, while in a another embodiment, the brake rotor is riveted to the rotor mounting boss.

  • Patent number: 6309028
Abstract: A bicycle hub is provided with spoke openings that extend into the interior of the hub. The bicycle hub basically has a hub axle, a hub body and seals arranged in the hub body. The hub axle has a center axis extending between a first end and a second end. The hub body has an interior passageway with the hub axle being rotatably supported therein. The hub body also has first and second spoke openings circumferentially arranged around the ends of the hub body. A first seal is arranged in the interior passageway of the hub body and adjacent the first spoke openings to isolate the first spoke openings from the hub axle. A seal support is located beneath the first seal to prevent radial inward movement of the first seal. A second seal is arranged in the interior passageway of the hub body and adjacent the second spoke openings to isolate the second spoke openings from the hub axle.

  • Publication number: 20010019980
Abstract: A first clutch (2) is connected to an engine (1) of a hybrid vehicle. A motor/generator (6) is connected to an output shaft (4) of the first clutch (2) through a planetary gear set (3). A second clutch (10) is provided which connects an input shaft (5) of an automatic transmission (7) to the output shaft (4) so as to move the vehicle forward, and which connects the input shaft (5) to the motor/generator (6) so as to move the vehicle rearward. The second clutch (10) preferably comprises a dog clutch. When the vehicle commences forward motion, the torque of the motor/generator which is input to the automatic transmission (7) can be increased since the planetary gear set (3) decreases the rotation speed of the motor/generator (6) and transmits it to the output shaft (4).
