Each of the front and rear rubber bushings has an outer tubular member which is substantially cylindrical and extends in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body, an inner tubular member which is received in the outer tubular member substantially coaxially therewith, and a rubber member interposed between the inner and outer tubular member. One of the inner and outer tubular members is connected to the vehicle body and the other is connected to the suspension arm.

    Abstract: A suspension system for a vehicle includes a suspension arm. The outer end portion of the suspension arm is connected to a wheel support for rotatably supporting a wheel. The inner end portion of the suspension arm is bifurcated and has first and second branch arms spaced from each other in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. Each of the inner end portions of the first and second branch arms is supported by a slide member so that the inner end portion is slidable relative to the vehicle body in the longitudinal direction of the same. A coil spring is provided for at least one of the first and second branch arms and urges forward the suspension arm. A stopper defines the foremost position of the suspension arm which is urged forward by said coil spring.

    Abstract: A suspension system for a vehicle includes a driving wheel support which supports for rotation a driving wheel of the vehicle, and a wheel guide which includes a plurality of arm members each of which is connected to the driving wheel support at its outer end and to the vehicle body at its inner end. The wheel guide restrains the toe angle of the driving wheel, and is arranged to cause the driving wheel to move in the direction of toe-in when a rearward load acts on the driving wheel and the driving wheel is displaced rearward. The wheel guide includes a resilient support member and a toe-out restraining member. The resilient support member resiliently supports the driving wheel support relative to the vehicle body and is arranged to contract when an external force acts thereon in a certain direction and to expand when an external force acts thereon in the reverse direction so that the driving wheel moves in the direction of toe-in when a forward driving force acts on the driving wheel.

    Abstract: An automotive vehicle having a fluid-operated, four wheel steering system for steering not only the front wheel pair, but also the rear wheel pair as a function of the amount of turn of the front wheel pair with respect to the direction of straightforward run of the vehicle. The system makes use of a front cylinder operatively associated with a steering gear assembly and a rear cylinder operated by a fluid medium supplied from the front cylinder for steering the rear wheel pair. In order for the steering system to be responsive to the vehicle running speed thereby to control the amount of turn of the rear wheel pair appropriate for a particular range of vehicle running speed, a device is provided for accommodating a portion of the fluid medium to be supplied to the rear cylinder when the pressure of the fluid medium increases to a value higher than a predetermined pressure.
