  • Patent number: 5436899
Abstract: The high performance multiplexed transmission system of this invention is configured by a sound coding unit for coding voice input information by separating it into a core information part for assuring the minimum acceptable sound quality and a supplementary information part discardable in stages per the transmission priorities. There is a silent section detecting unit for detecting silent sections of voice input information. In addition, there is a multiplexing unit for multiplexing only the information synchronizing with the correspondent's coder for the voice channels from which no sound is detected, or first the core information part and second the supplementary information part from the ones with the highest priorities in stages in fixed length frames, for discarding the supplementary information parts, which cannot be multiplexed because of a band deficiency.

  • Patent number: 5121385
Abstract: The period of a sound-existence/sound-silence of a speech signal is detected. Packet data is inserted in a speech time slot during the period of non-existence of sound in the speech signal. A time slot is also given to the non-speech data requiring a quick response in transmission so that the non-speech data is multiplexed with the speech signal for transmission. Data-non-existence of non-speech data is detected when the non-speech data does not exist and then the packet data is inserted into a time slot of the non-speech data for transmission.

  • Patent number: 4869848
Abstract: A flame-retardant composition is prepared by mixing 100 parts by weight of a rubber or plastics free from any halogen with about 50 to about 200 parts by weight of magnesium hydroxide having an average particle diameter of about 0.3 to about 2 .mu.m and about 5 to about 50 parts by weight of carbon black powder having an oil absorption of about 0.5 to about 2.0 ml/g, and then cross-linking the mixture with an organic peroxide, sulfur, or a sulfur compound as a vulcanizing agent. By forming an electrical insulation and/or a sheath of the flame-retardant composition, there is provided a flame-retardant cable of the type including a cable core composed of an electric conductor coated with the electrical insulation or a plurality of such cores twisted together and covered, together with a filler, with the sheath.

  • Patent number: 4768469
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling operation of a recovery boiler for compensating a predetermined reference temperature of black liquor by a compensation value in accordance with a type of an injecting gun provided in the boiler, a compensation value set by the properties of the black liquor, a compensation value set by the temperature of charbed and a compensation value set by an air flow rate to the boiler representing the magnitude of boiler steam output or load to control the black liquor temperature supplied to the boiler.

  • Patent number: 4549041
Abstract: The flame-retardant cross-linked composition is produced as follows: A first compound of a metallic hydrate and a polyolefin resin free from any halogen is mixed with a silane-grafted polyolefin resin free from any halogen to form a second compound; and the second compound is silane cross-linked to form the flame-retardant cross-linked composition. The metallic hydrate is mixed in an amount of about 50 to about 200 parts by weight per about 100 parts by weight of the polyolefin resin and the silane-grafted polyolefin resin, and the polyolefin resin is mixed in an amount of about (100-x) parts by weight where x is the amount of the silane-grafted polyolefin resin and about 10.ltoreq.x.ltoreq. about 80 parts by weight. The flame-retardant cross-linked composition is excellent in flame retardancy, thermal resistance and forming property and further advantageous in production cost as compared to the conventional flame-retardant composition.
