  • Patent number: 8477749
Abstract: A wireless terminal that can connect to a plurality of networks makes a request for a connection to a management server. The management server holds network information about unchanging service characteristics of a plurality of networks constituting a wireless communication area. The management server selects networks satisfying a request condition of a wireless terminal that has requested a connection based on the network information and notifies the selected networks, as candidates for connection, to the wireless terminal. The wireless terminal measures changing service characteristics of the candidates for connection notified from the management server, selects a network from the candidates for connection based on a measurement result, and connects to the selected network.

  • Patent number: 7917621
Abstract: Prior art quarantine networks were implemented by two methods, the IEEE802.1x method and the DHCP method, but these methods both have different problems. The problem with the IEEE802.1x method is that it is difficult to make the transition from an existing management framework. The problem with the DHCP method is that it is difficult to prevent attacks on the network itself, and to repeat client quarantine. The present invention implements client login authentication and client security status quarantine independently, and controls layer-2 connectivity based on the respective results. This permits quarantine using an existing management framework, as well as enhancing network protection by layer-2 connection control and permitting repeat quarantine of the client using the same IP address. Moreover, by incorporating other layer-2 connectivity control mechanisms, flexible layer-2 connectivity control outside the quarantine network can also be implemented.

  • Patent number: 5337232
Abstract: In breaking a syntagm, such as a phrase, a clause, a sentence, or sentences, into a succession of analyzed morphemes, use is made of at least one group of morphemes included in the syntagm which includes two or more morphemes in a customary order. These two or more morphemes of each group are stored in a dictionary together with a descriptor, such as TIME or ANGLE, descriptive of the group, and an identifier or number indicative of the customary order. Selected by a separating unit, candidate morphemes for the analyzed morphemes are stored, together with, if any, the descriptor and at least one of the identifier or a mark, in a memory as memorized morphemes. An output unit selects those memorized morphemes which are accompanied by a common descriptor descriptive of a single group and either the identifier or the mark indicative of the customary order of morphemes in the group, and outputs these as the analyzed morphemes.
