  • Patent number: 4721251
Abstract: A fluid dispersal device has a fluid inlet port, a nozzle, a fluid jet passage and an outlet throat provided in a housing and arranged from the upstream side thereof in order. The sidewalls defining the fluid jet passage are composed of deflection walls, turn walls and branch walls arranged in order from the upstream side thereof. The deflection walls are parallel walls symmetric with respect to the center line of said nozzle, each of the turn walls continues from the downstream end of each of the deflection walls and is formed into a rectangular concave wall, the distance between the opposed rectangular concave walls is larger than that between the deflection walls. The branch walls continue from the downstream ends of the turn walls and project in opposite directions. The outlet throat is defined by the oppositely projecting branch walls. The fluid jet jetted from the nozzle is rightward of leftward deflected due to the interaction between the fluid jet and the deflection walls.

  • Patent number: 4678118
Abstract: A car spoiler having an aerodynamic surface for controlling the airflow around the automotive body is provided with a built-in liquid handling means which is used as a liquid reservoir, heat storage tank, or heat exchanger. The heat storage tank may be used to store the hot coolant of the cooling system of the engine during normal operation and to supply the hot coolant to the cooling system in order to quickly warm up the engine or to the hot-water car heater system in order to heat the passenger compartment during cold start of the engine. The built-in heat exchanger may be used to cool the engine coolant, engine lubricant, or transmission oil of the automatic transmission system.

  • Patent number: 4618096
Abstract: A window washer comprises a washer liquid jet nozzle provided under a windshield glass of a vehicle so as to be directed thereto for periodically deflecting the jetting direction of the washer liquid horizontally by the fluidic self-oscillating operation thereof, a pump provided in a washer liquid passage connecting the jet nozzle to a washer liquid tank for pressurizing the washer liquid and sending the pressurized washer liquid, a driving motor for driving the pump and a motor control circuit for applying a square pulse shaped voltage to the motor. The motor control circuit periodically operates the pump so that the discharge pressure thereof periodically changes. Consequently, the jetting direction of the washer liquid jetted from the jet nozzle is periodically deflected horizontally and vertically.

  • Patent number: 4558634
Abstract: A ventilation system for a motor vehicle such as an automobile includes a ventilating hole defined in a body of the motor vehicle for venting an interior of the body to atmosphere, and an aerodynamic device such as an air spoiler mounted on the body at the ventilating hole and having a lower surface held against an outer surface of the body, a front surface for forming a negative angle of elevation with respect to an air current flowing along the body while the automobile is running, and a rear surface for separating the air current off said body. The aerodynamic device has a vent hole extending therethrough from the lower surface to the rear surface in communication with the ventilating hole.
