  • Patent number: 9483874
Abstract: An example non-limiting game apparatus as an information processing apparatus includes a CPU which causes the game apparatus to function as a guide apparatus. A map image of a place or area to be guided is displayed on a lower LCD. When a predetermined position on the map image is designated, a photograph image of a part of a panoramic image produced from a panoramic photograph taken at a real position in a real space that corresponds to the predetermined position is displayed on a stereoscopic LCD. Therefore, not only a planar map image but also an actual photograph at the predetermined position are presented. Furthermore, if the map image is turned, the photograph image of a part of the panoramic image is changed such that the photograph image corresponds to a turned direction.

  • Publication number: 20150350307
Abstract: An example information-processing device, when accepting a login from a user (SA1), executes a first processing (SA2). The first processing is, for example, execution of a game. The example information-processing device, when receiving, for example, a signal for having a chat (SA3), determines whether a destination user of the signal is a logged-in user (SA4). The example information-processing device, when the destination user is not a logged-in user, notifies the logged-in user of the receipt of the signal by displaying an icon (SA6). When doing so, the example information-processing device displays information on the destination user, without displaying a source user of the signal.

  • Patent number: 8506411
Abstract: A TV game machine is connected to a portable game machine being used as a controller. If no operations have been carried out by a user to the portable game machine, the portable game machine sends a sleep request to the TV game machine, and then enters sleep mode. On receiving the sleep request, the TV game machine causes a message to be displayed on a display, and notifies a user that the portable game machine is being operated in sleep mode. This screen display continues until the portable game machine returns from the sleep mode. Thus, it is possible to prevent the user who sees the portable game machine in sleep mode from erroneously believing that the portable game machine is turned off and then operating a power button to turn it on.

  • Publication number: 20120196681
Abstract: A game system is composed by connecting a game apparatus with a monitor and a percussion type controller. A game player beats a first beating operation surface or a second beating operation surface to input an operation signal from the controller to the game apparatus. In the game apparatus, in response to the operation signal, a player character in a virtual world displayed on the monitor is moved in a left or a right direction. Furthermore, when a sound, input by clapping and so on in the vicinity of a microphone of the controller, is present, the game apparatus generates a shock wave from a position of the player character. By the shock wave, a predetermined change occurs, such as returning an enemy character to its initial position, gathering fairies in a form of block, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 8004984
Abstract: This invention is to provide a technique enabling efficient routing in the entire network by totally viewing a state of the entire network from a specific server. An information processing method for managing paths between arbitrary nodes in a specific network according to the invention, includes: obtaining data concerning a utilization state of each link constituting a path, from associated nodes in the specific network; and calculating a value of dynamic transmission bandwidth in an entire path by using the data concerning the utilization state of each link constituting the path, and storing the calculated value into a management data storage. By the dynamic transmission bandwidth, that is, bandwidth, which can actually be used for communication to be carried out from now, it becomes possible to carry out efficient routing.
