Abstract: A nonflammable paper having a sufficient yield at the time of paper-making and a sufficient non-combustibility and strength even in a basis weight as low as 100 g/m.sup.2 or less is provided, which paper is obtained by dispersing in water a composition comprising 40 to 95% by weight of calcium silicate in the form of needle, plate, thin film or a secondary aggregate thereof, and aluminum hydroxide powder, in a specified ratio by weight, 5 to 30% by weight of cellulose fibers and 0 to 30% by weight of other additives, the total weight of these components being 100% by weight, followed by subjecting the dispersion to paper-making.

Abstract: A novel process for producing a non-combustible gypsum board and a non-combustible laminated gypsum board having superior practical physical properties, smoothly and efficiently is provided, which process is characterized by preparing a mixture consisting of a powdery gypsum consisting of 50 to 95 parts by weight of a hydrating gypsum and 5 to 50 parts by weight of gypsum dihydrate, a definite amount of fibers and a definite amount of a caking retarder and a necessary amount of water; molding the mixture before the hydrating gypsum is hydrated; and setting and drying the resulting molded material.

Abstract: Described is a novel gypsum board and a manufacturing method therefor by first forming a particulate layer securely adhered to the base paper for the gypsum board and by utilizing an adhesion layer which has been formed by the reaction of the particulate layer for pasting the gypsum core material on the base paper for board, so that adhesion between the core material and the base paper is enhanced as well as the strength of the gypsum board itself is improved.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for continuously producing a dense board of cement-like material reinforced by glass fiber, which comprises (1) preparing a slurry of cement-like material; (2) simultaneously spraying the cement-like slurry and short lengths of glass fiber on a suction conveyor in such a manner that the cement-like slurry stream and the glass fiber stream intersect on the suction conveyor to form a dense mat of an intimate mixture of the two; and (3) dehydrating the mat by pulse-like intermittent suction using one or more suction boxes before the cement-like material begins to set, and to an apparatus used in carrying out the process.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for continuously producing a board of cement-like material reinforced by fibrous material, which comprises (A) preparing granules of cement-like material by adding water to powdery cement-like material; (B) preparing a granular mixture of the cement-like material and fibrous material by mixing the above prepared granules of cement-like material with short lengths of fibrous material dispersed in air; and (C) forming said granular mixture into a board under compression, optionally with the addition of water.
