    Abstract: An electromagnetic flowmeter measures a flow rate of a liquid of a measurement target that flows in a magnetic field formed within a measurement pipe. The electromagnetic flowmeter includes at least one pair of detection electrodes configured to detect an electromotive force generated due to a flow of the liquid, and configured to output a flow rate signal of a magnitude of the detected electromotive force, a measurement circuit configured to supply an alternating current between the detection electrodes and an earth electrode, and a control calculator configured to control a frequency of the alternating current to be 1 kHz or more, and configured to calculate a conductivity of the liquid whose conductivity is 1 mS/cm or more based on the flow rate signal output when the alternating current flows between the detection electrodes and the earth electrode.

    Abstract: An object is to provide a structure and a method of joining a nozzle vane and a lever, and a variable geometry turbocharger, capable of reducing breakage of a welded part between a shaft portion of the nozzle vane and the lever during usage of the same by reducing generation of a hot crack in weld metal at the welded part. A joint structure includes: a nozzle vane 2 disposed in an exhaust passage for guiding exhaust gas to a turbine wheel 34 of a variable geometry turbocharger 500, and including a shaft portion 2a; and a lever 1 including a fitting surface 42a fitted with a peripheral surface 72 on one end side of the shaft portion, for transmitting torque to the shaft portion to adjust a vane angle of the nozzle vane. Weld metal 50 at a welded part 40 between the lever and the nozzle vane is formed so that a center position 64 of the weld metal is disposed inside a position 17 of the fitting surface with respect to a radial direction of the shaft portion.

The corrective action may be applied to a node other than the node at which the performance metric is associated with. For example, if a performance metric for a first node does not satisfy a threshold, the corrective action may be applied to a second node. When a solution applied to a second node is found to correct the problem in first node, the solution may be applied to the other nodes experiencing the same problem.

    Abstract: Void formation in tungsten lines in a three-dimensional memory device can be prevented by providing polycrystalline aluminum oxide liners in portions of lateral recesses that are laterally spaced from backside trenches by a distance grater than a predefined lateral offset distance. Tungsten nucleates on the polycrystalline aluminum oxide liners prior to nucleating on a metallic liner layer. Thus, tungsten layers can be deposited from the center portion of each backside recess, and the growth of tungsten can proceed toward the backside trenches. By forming the tungsten layers without voids, structural integrity of the three-dimensional memory device can be enhanced.
