  • Patent number: 6481345
Abstract: A link type transfer press is driven by continuously dwelling the slide in the vicinity of the top dead center thereof with the use of a link mechanism. With this arrangement, a motion index angle of a feeder can be taken by a large degree even though the time required for one cycle of the slide is shortened, and accordingly, the transfer time of the feeder can be set to be substantially longer so that the feed can be fed without interference with the slide. Thus, the entire pressing time can be reduced, thereby enhancing the productivity.

  • Patent number: 4701704
Abstract: A touch signal probe for electrically detecting the contact of a touch pin with a work to be measured in all three-axes directions. The apparatus can be attached to a three-dimensional coordinate measuring system to automatically detect electrical touch signals indicative of the contact with the work. The internal structure of the probe case is constructed such that a three dimensionally movable support can be attached thereto to provide a touch pin base which is movably supported on seats fixed on the probe case which carries the touch pin by means of a Z-axis movable support mechanism. The Z-axis support mechanism consists of a pair of diaphragms fixed on the upper and lower ends of the touch pin base at their peripheries respectively and a support shaft rigidly connected with the central portions of the diaphragms and holding the touch pin at its lower end.

  • Patent number: 4106147
Abstract: In shearing apparatus comprising a fixed and a movable shear element for shearing work such as wire into desired lengths, a stop member is provided for stopping the wire as same is fed endwise through the fixed shear element. Each time the wire length projecting out of the fixed shear element is cut off, the stop member is pivoted against the force of a spring to relieve the impact of the shearing operation exerted thereon. For adjustably moving the stop member toward and away from the fixed shear element, the stop member is mounted on a carriage having a tapped hole through which extends a threaded first shaft geared to a second shaft. This second shaft can be rotated manually for moving the carriage toward or away from the fixed shear element and can be locked in a desired angular position by a locking pin which is spring biased into engagement in any of several circumferentially spaced indentations formed in a collar on the second shaft.

  • Patent number: 4085640
Abstract: Incorporated with a heading machine for cutting continuous wire stock into required lengths for subsequent heading operation, the shearing apparatus includes a movable shear element against which is clamped a wire length to be cut off and which is reciprocated with respect to a fixed shear element. For reciprocating the movable shear element, which is carried by a slide, there is provided an actuator lever having a pusher member operatively mounted on its free end. The pusher member pushes the slide via an abutment thereon during the forward or cutting stroke of the movable shear element and, during the return stroke, via an air cylinder secured to the slide and held under constant supply of pressurized air.

  • Patent number: 4083281
Abstract: A device for positioning the backward stroke end of a shearing blade for use in a bolt forming header comprises a shearing slide reciprocably mounted within a box-shaped frame and having a shearing blade attached to the leading end thereof and a first abutment member fixedly secured to the rear end thereof, said abutment member having an inclined face formed in the rearmost end thereof, a stopper member movably mounted on the rear end portion of said frame and having an inclined face formed in the portion thereof opposite to the inclined face of said abutment member, and an adjusting mechanism mounted on said frame for moving said stopper member in the direction perpendicular to that of reciprocation of said shearing slide, thereby adjusting the backward stroke end of said shearing blade.

  • Patent number: 4055869
Abstract: Clamping and cutting apparatus to be incorporated with a heading machine comprises a carriage having a shearing cutter mounted thereon and movable between a cutting position where rod-shaped work is cut to a predetermined length and a transfer position where the cut piece of work is transferred to the subsequent processing station. A clamp lever mounted on the carriage is connected via a toggle joint to a slider also mounted thereon, which slider is slidable either to a positive clamping position for causing the clamp lever to positively clamp the work against the cutter, a loose clamping position for causing the clamp lever to loosely clamp the work, or an unclamping position for causing the clamp lever to release the work.
