  • Publication number: 20100327490
Abstract: In a block pattern, transverse grooves 2 are provided that open to grounding edge in the tire width direction, at bottoms of said transverse grooves, protrusions 3 are provided that extend along the direction of said transverse grooves, said protrusions 3 have starting points in the center side C from the grounding edge T in a tire front view, and said protrusions have terminal points that go over said grounding edge T and in the outer side from said grounding edge T. Further, it is preferable that the protrusions 3 of said transverse grooves are provided with divided protrusions 4 that are formed dividedly in the center side from the grounding edge.

  • Publication number: 20080283169
Abstract: A pneumatic tire is provided in which markings shown on surfaces of side walls thereof have superior visibility and the effect of increased visibility can be maintained over a long period of time. In a pneumatic tire having a marking provided on a side wall, a marking area which includes the marking and a background portion of the marking is formed into a recessed plane which is recessed further inwards than the surface of the side wall in an axial direction of the tire, and the marking is formed in the marking area in the form of a projecting plane which is provided in such a manner as to project relative to the recessed plane. The surface of the marking is made up of a specular surface portion having a surface roughness in which a center line average surface roughness (Ra) is in the range of 0.4 to 1.5 ?m, and the background portion is made up of a rough surface portion whose surface roughness exceeds a surface roughness in which Ra is 1.5 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20080216932
Abstract: A pneumatic tire is provided in which the degree of freedom in designing markings shown on external surfaces thereof is enhanced without depending upon engraved letters on a conventional mold so as to meet requests from individual users while increasing the visibility of the markings so shown. In a pneumatic tire having markings on external surfaces thereof, thermoplastic resin films of which a center line average surface roughness (Ra) of a surface is in the range of 0.1 to 1.5 ?m are affixed to predetermined positions on external surfaces of a green tire of the tire and the green tire is then vulcanization molded, whereby markings are formed. Surfaces of the markings are made up of a specular surface of which Ra is in the range of 0.1 to 1.5 ?m, and a background portion 11 which surrounds peripheries of the markings is made up of a rough surface of which Ra exceeds 1.5 ?m.
