  • Patent number: 6632505
Abstract: A printing material containing a white layer and an absorption layer formed on a base material made of a resin film. The base material may be black and opaque, while the white layer contains titanium oxide. The absorption layer may contain a protein and absorbs aqueous inks. The white layer is hydrophilic and thus highly compatible with aqueous inks which have permeated the absorption layer and reached the white layer, thereby giving a vivid image. The printing material may be used in an advertising poster adhered to a windowpane of a bus, etc. by forming a number of holes in the printing material.

  • Publication number: 20020160158
Abstract: A printing material 10 wherein a white layer 2 and an absorption layer 3 are formed in this order on a base material 1 made of a resin film. The base material 1 has been made black and opaque, while the white layer contains titanium oxide so as to make it white and opaque. The absorption layer 3 contains a protein and absorbs aqueous inks. Because of containing a hydrophilic and water-resistant binder resin, the white layer 2 is highly compatible with aqueous inks which have permeated the absorption layer 3 and reached the white layer 2, thereby giving a vivid image.

  • Publication number: 20020150735
Abstract: A heat-resistant film includes a film substrate and a heat-resistant slip layer. The heat-resistant slip layer is disposed on one surface of the film substrate and contains a binder and a slip additive, which is a higher fatty acid metal salt composition containing a free higher fatty acid in an amount of 3 to 30 wt % and a metal salt of a higher fatty acid. With this heat-resistant film, a good heat-resistivity and slipperiness are obtained even when the slip additive is contained in the heat-resistant slip layer in relatively small amounts. The slip additive improves the solution stability of the coating composition used to form the heat-resistant slip layer. Preferably, the free higher fatty acid is stearic acid and the metal salt of higher fatty acid is aluminum stearate.

  • Patent number: 6319181
Abstract: A semiconductive rubber roller used in a printer of a photocopying machine, which is an elongated integral body consisting of a shaft of a metal, a semiconductive foamed rubber layer on and around the shaft and a semiconductive solid, i.e. non-foamed, silicone rubber layer on and around the foamed rubber layer. Unexpected improvements can be obtained in the performance and durability of the roller when the silicone rubber forming the solid silicone rubber layer contains low molecular weight organopolysiloxane molecules having a degree of polymerization not exceeding 20 in an amount not exceeding 1.0% by weight and by providing the surface of the semiconductive solid silicone rubber layer with a covering layer which may be a coating layer of a resinous coating composition or a skin layer having a modified nature by a chemical or physical treatment such as ultraviolet irradiation.

  • Patent number: 6238797
Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a recording sheet which can produce colorful printed images of high quality without causing either problem of repelling of ink even in multicolor printing or blurring in the printed images with the lapse of time, and which can also confer high phototransmission on the printed images so that it is well suitable for a transparency for OHP. A recording sheet having an ink-receiving layer formed on at least one surface of a substrate is disclosed, wherein said ink-receiving layer is formed by applying a resin solution comprising (a) a resin containing (1) a component presenting water-solubility in its molecules and (2) a component containing a functional group forming a crosslinking point in its molecules and presenting water-solubility before a crosslinking point is formed, and (b) a water-soluble resin on the substrate, and thereafter forming a crosslinking point.

  • Patent number: 6068937
Abstract: A recording sheet has a base and a receptive layer disposed on at least one surface of the base. The receptive layer contains at least a water-absorbent copolymer and said water-resistant graft copolymer whose main chain is polyvinyl alcohol. The water-absorbent copolymer absorbs inks, and the water-resistant graft copolymer makes the receptive layer resistant to discoloration, blurring, and gloss or luster irregularities. The water-absorbent graft copolymer comprises a graft copolymer produced by grafting a vinyl monomer having a carboxyl group and a monomer having a functional group reacting with the carboxyl group. The water-absorbent copolymer comprises a copolymer of acrylic acid and vinyl alcohol. The water-resistant graft copolymer and the water-absorbent copolymer are added at a ratio in parts by weight ranging from 20/80 to 80/20, preferably, from 30/70 to 70/30.
