  • Patent number: 7978047
Abstract: A variable resistance element comprises a variable resistor of strongly-correlated material sandwiched between two metal electrodes, and the electric resistance between the metal electrodes varies when a voltage pulse is applied between the metal electrodes. Such a switching operation as the ratio of electric resistance between low and high resistance states is high can be attained by designing the metal electrodes and variable resistor appropriately based on a definite switching operation principle. Material and composition of the first electrode and variable resistor are set such that metal insulator transition takes place on the interface of the first electrode in any one of two metal electrodes and the variable resistor by applying a voltage pulse. Two-phase coexisting phase of metal and insulator phases can be formed in the vicinity of the interface between the variable resistor and first electrode by the work function difference between the first electrode and variable resistor.

  • Publication number: 20110129429
Abstract: When a poorly water-soluble ultraviolet ray absorber is used, it is difficult to solubilize a sufficient amount of the poorly water-soluble ultraviolet ray absorber by using a surfactant such as a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether or a polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil. Thus, an object aims to provide a water-containing composition in which a poorly water-soluble ultraviolet ray absorber is solubilized or dispersed in water. Another object aims to dissolve a poorly water-soluble ultraviolet ray absorber in water and allow the poorly water-soluble ultraviolet ray absorber to co-exist with a water-soluble component such as a water-soluble medicinal agent and a water-soluble dye in the water to thereby stabilize the water-soluble component.

  • Patent number: 7944316
Abstract: A multi-phase oscillator includes a plurality of ring oscillators (21) each having a plurality of output ports and each formed by connecting an odd number of inverters (20) in a ring, and a plurality of resistance elements (30) coupling the output ports between the plurality of ring oscillators (21) so that all of the plurality of ring oscillators (21) operate at an identical frequency while keeping a desired phase relationship. The number of the ring oscillators (21) is not limited to an odd number but may be an even number. The multi-phase oscillator changes the state of a succeeding node of a phase coupling to accord with the state of a preceding node of the phase coupling by using the resistance elements (30) as phase coupling devices. If resistors are used as the resistance elements (30), the phase output accuracy greatly improves and high frequency oscillation is possible.
