  • Patent number: 5636608
Abstract: A power unit for a vehicle constructed by combining an internal combustion engine and a transmission integrally is provided. A crankshaft rotatably supported in front and rear crankcases of the internal combustion engine is positioned biased slightly toward right side from the center of the crankcases, a cylinder block and a cylinder head is inclined toward the left so as to extend obliquely leftward and upward from the crankshaft, on the left side of the crankshaft are arranged a main shaft and an auxiliary shaft of the transmission in turn, at a middle and upper portion between the main and auxiliary shafts a reverse shaft, and below the auxiliary shaft a driving shaft. On the right side of the crankshaft is arranged a cam shaft. These shafts are parallel with each other and directed in the vehicle running direction.

  • Patent number: 5558059
Abstract: A generator is provided inside the casings of a power unit which is fitted to the rear end of a crank shaft. The generator has a stator provided to a generator cover detachably fitted to cover a rear opening of the casing. A harness extends from the stator and is led outside through a grommet provided between the joining faces of the casing and the generator cover. A space is formed behind the generator cover to insert a tool such as an impact wrench with the power unit left mounted on the vehicle body. It is possible to detach and maintain the generator only by detaching the generator cover while leaving the power unit mounted on the vehicle body.

  • Patent number: 5515940
Abstract: A casing of a power unit is formed which is capable of simultaneously driving the front and the rear wheels of a saddle type vehicle. The power unit includes an engine and a transmission in a compact construction. A crankshaft, a main shaft, a secondary shaft and an output shaft are supported in parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle in a casing for both an engine and a transmission. The crankshaft, the main shaft and the secondary shaft are arranged on substantially the same level. The output shaft is disposed below the main shaft and the secondary shaft. The opposite ends of the output shaft project outside from the casing. The opposite ends of the output shaft are connected to a front driving shaft and a rear driving shaft, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4574652
Abstract: An improved transmission in a motor vehicle including a body, an engine located in the vicinity of the center of the body, a pair of footrests attached to the body near the engine, and front and rear wheels. The transmission is integral with the engine and has a casing, a shift spindle having one end projecting from the casing and rotatable for shifting the transmission, and a control lever coupled to the shift spindle. According to the improvement, a cam means is interposed between the control lever and the casing for limiting shifting operation of the control lever. The cam means comprises a cam member having a cam surface and fixed to the casing, a shaft member axially slidably fitted in the control lever and having a control knob on a first end thereof, and a spring disposed between the shaft member and the control lever for urging the shaft member to cause a second end of the shaft member to abut against the cam surface of the cam member.

  • Patent number: 4423826
Abstract: A note disbursing machine is formed with a reject pool section instead of an independent reject box. An uppermost note receiving box is adapted to be accommodated in the note disbursing machine so as to face the reject pool section. The receiving box has an upper cover. A reject box for receiving rejected notes is rotatably mounted on the upper cover. A cover for covering the reject box and guiding the rejected notes is rotatably mounted on the reject box.
