  • Patent number: 6075556
Abstract: A method is disclosed, for encoding a signal with a three dimensional image sequence using a series of left and right images. Each image in the left image series is a picture formed by non-interlaced or interlaced scanned left line images, and each image in the right image series is a picture formed by non-interlaced or interlaced scanned right line images. The left line images contained in the left picture are merged with the right line images contained in the right picture to produce an alternately arranged left and right line merged picture. The merged picture is encoded using an MPEG-2 compliant encoder.

  • Patent number: 6011598
Abstract: A decoding start controller is capable of appropriately decoding pictures up to the final picture, even if the amount of the data stored in a bit-stream buffer is reduced, as a result of partial storage of the data in an internal local buffer. Further, the decoding start controller is capable of decoding extremely short bit-stream data. If completion information, which is sent from an input side of the bit-stream data and represents completion of input of the bit-stream data, is detected, a decoding start instruction signal is output to a variable-length decoder regardless of a value of VBV occupancy. In short, when the amount of the data stored in the bit-stream buffer connected to the decoder having the decoding start controller, is equal or greater than the value of VBV occupancy, the decoding start instruction signal will usually be sent to the variable-length decoder: namely, so-called decoding start control operation based on value of VBV occupancy.

  • Patent number: 5963673
Abstract: A method and apparatus for adaptively selecting a coding mode for video encoding systems using the techniques of predictive coding, interpolative coding, motion compensation, discrete cosine transformation (DCT), adaptive quantization, or variable length coding. In one system, a value related to an amount of total code, which is composed of current video code and its coding parameters for each of the above coding modes, is determined, respectively, and a coding mode corresponding to the smallest value is selected. Then, the encoding is performed using the selected coding mode.

  • Patent number: 5923544
Abstract: A noncontact power transmitting apparatus which makes it possible to rapidly charge a secondary cell of a part to be charged with large electric power and realize a lightweight and compact part to be charged. A power-transmitting coil of a charging part is divided into two sets, and the power-transmitting coils of the sets are respectively wound around cores, and are formed as a first power-transmitting coil portion 26 and a second power-transmitting coil portion 27 which are separate and independent as the two sets. Meanwhile, a power-receiving coil of a part to be charged is wound around a core, and is formed as a single power-receiving coil portion 28.

  • Patent number: 5808700
Abstract: A motion vector detecting circuit and a motion video compressing system are disclosed. The detecting circuit detect a vector which direct from a spatial location of a current macroblock to a spatial location of a reference macroblock. The detecting circuit includes a first extracting circuit, a second extracting circuit and a searching circuit. The first extracting circuit extracts upper bits from each pixel data of the current macroblock. The second extracting circuit extracts upper bits from each pixel data of the reference frame. The searching circuit searches the upper-bits-extracted reference frame for a macroblock having the strongest correlation with the current macroblock by comparing the upper-bits-extracted current macroblock with the upper-bits-extracted reference frame and outputs the spatial location of the reference macroblock. The motion video compressing system includes the motion vector detecting circuit, a transform-coding circuit, a subtracter, a comparator and a controller.

  • Patent number: 5754235
Abstract: An input bitstream (a first bitstream) is divided into a main code having a changeable length and the remaining data. The main code is subjected to a bit-rate conversion and combined with the remainig data to output a second bitstream. By this arrangement, the configuration ofthe bit-rate conversion circuit can be simplified and delay in the conversion process can be reduced. Incidentally, the main code corresponds to the DCT-coefficient data(e) and the quantizer scale(d), while the remaining data corresponds to the header data(a), the handling type data(b) and the motion vector data(c) respectively.

  • Patent number: 5706053
Abstract: A compressed motion video code processing circuit and a compressed motion video code processing method are disclaused. The processor decodes a bitstream into a moving picture data sequence and outputts each picture to an outside circuit (e.g., a monitor circuit) according to the original video sequence. That is, the bitstream includes I-pictures, P-pictures and B-pictures, and each pictures are arranged according to a different rule from the original video sequence. When an error is caused in the bitstream, the data of the error portion is replaced by decoded data of corresponding portion in a correction picture which has been decoded and stored. The correction picture is selected, for example, as a picture which has short inter-frame distance from a current picture under decoding.

  • Patent number: 4939402
Abstract: A single transistor type driving circuit for a piezoelectric vibrator. The driving circuit includes a transformer having a primary winding and a secondary winding, a single switching transistor connected in series with the primary winding, the piezoelectric vibrator being connected with the secondary winding, a transistor driving circuit for applying driving current to the switching transistor so that the switching transistor is alternately turned on and off to thereby drive the vibrator at or in the vicinity of a resonating frequency of the vibrator. A coil is connected in series with the piezoelectric vibrator so that current and voltage of sinusoidal form are applied to the vibrator. A phase comparator compares phase of the sinusoidal current at the piezoelectric vibrator with phase of voltage at the secondary winding of the transformer to produce a phase difference signal, and the frequency of the driving current is controlled in accordance with the phase difference signal.
