The information processing apparatus is capable of establishing wireless direct connection to a mobile terminal by using wireless communication via a first communication section conforming to a first wireless communication standard and wireless communication via a second communication section conforming to a second wireless communication standard which is higher in data transfer rate for a to smaller area than the first wireless communication standard. Selection menus for configuring settings for establishing the direct connection to the mobile terminal are sequentially displayed on a display section, and a user performs selection operations according to the selection menus, whereby the wireless direct connection to the mobile terminal via the second communication section is established.
