    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device (such as guidewire inserter) for easily and certainly inserting a medical long item having a curved tip into a tube such as catheter and sheath. The guidewire inserter is a tubular member having therein a bore for passage of a guidewire. The tubular member has a slit cutting across the wall thereof over the total length thereof. The tubular member has at the proximal end thereof an aperture, which results from the slit expanding toward the proximal end. The tubular member has at the proximal end of the aperture an open part and a connecting part adjacent thereto for the holder tube. There are a pair of wing-like protruded pieces projecting in the mutually opposite directions at both sides of the open part. The distal end of the tubular member has on its outer surface a pair of protruded rims, which project in the mutually opposite directions with respect to the central axis of the tubular member.

    Abstract: Nitrous oxide contained in a gas is directly decomposed by contacting the gas with a catalyst layer composed mainly of tin (IV) oxide at a reaction temperature of not less than 250.degree. C., preferably not less than 300.degree. C. Particularly when a cobalt (II) compound is added to the catalyst layer, nitrous oxide can be effectively removed to a low concentration by contacting the gas with the catalyst layer at the reaction temperature of not less than 200.degree. C., preferably not less than 300.degree. C. By the present process, nitrous oxide which has not conventionally effectively removed can be reliably removed at a low cost. The present process can be applied for the removal of nitrous oxide in exhaust gases discharged from a sludge-incinerating furnace, a boiler fine powder coal combustion furnace, etc.

    Abstract: A rear fender mounting structure includes features for simplifying the assembly of a rear fender, sub-frame, and grab rails to a rear frame of a motorcycle. The sub-frame has brackets welded onto it. The brackets include holes with protruding collars defining the holes. The rear fender has holes lined with rubber bushings. The protruding collars are fitted into the rubber bushings. The rear fender includes a bracket which is hooked over a crossbar of the motorcycle frame. The fender is then lifted from its rear end, by pivoting the bracket about the crossbar. When alignment occurs between the bracket holes and holes in the rear frame, linkage plates with bolts extending therefrom, are employed. The bolts are passed through the aligned holes. Next, holes in the grab rails can be easily aligned with the ends of the bolts. Nuts are used to secure the arrangement.
