Abstract: When a viewer views content, it is reproduced by a reproduction procedure depending on a dynamic condition set in the content. Here, a content object data input unit obtains an externally-input content object. The content object is stored in a content object data retention unit, if necessary. The content object includes a reproduction rule and a content data. A reproduction rule evaluation and execution unit obtains the reproduction rule in the content object and performs processing in accordance with the reproduction rule. The reproduction unit reproduces a reproducible data specified by the reproduction rule evaluation and execution unit. An identifier management unit retains an identifier of a content object reproduction device and provides the identifier upon request. It is thus possible to reproduce in accordance with the reproduction rule set in the content object data and to control the reproduction procedure depending on the dynamic condition.

Abstract: An information reader includes an object reading unit for reading an image of an object and obtaining the image as image data, an object data obtaining unit for analyzing the image data and obtaining object data as data contained in the object itself, a state data obtaining unit for obtaining state data indicating a state of the object during object image reading operation to read an image of the object, and an identifying unit for identifying predetermined processing by using as identification data the object data and at least one of the state data. The information which is obtained when an object is shot and which is meaningless in the conventional techniques can be effectively used. Therefore, the quantity of overall information can be increased without adding new hardware to the information reader.

Abstract: To provide a portable terminal that can establish an ad hoc network by operating existing communication unit without requiring a burdensome operation of manually exchanging ad hoc setting information. The distribution determination section of a receiving portable terminal compares a message digest that is calculated by a telephone calling application from a received telephone number and one received by the short-distance wireless communication section. If the values of the message digests match, the distribution determination section informs the user that the calling portable terminal is capable of ad hoc communication such as on a liquid crystal display.

Abstract: A data transmission system includes a server and a terminal which communicates with the server. The server includes a key storage unit, data encryption unit, key transmission unit, and server encrypted-data transmission unit. The key storage unit stores a plurality of keys to encrypt data. The data encryption unit generates a plurality of encrypted data by encrypting data with the plurality of keys stored in the key storage unit. The key transmission unit transmits in advance, to the terminal, one key to decrypt one of the encrypted data generated by the data encryption unit. The server encrypted-data transmission unit transmits, to the terminal, the encrypted data generated by the data encryption unit. The terminal includes a decryption unit which decrypts the encrypted data transmitted from the server with a key transmitted in advance from the server. A data transmission method, data transmission server, data reception terminal, and recording medium are also disclosed.
