  • Publication number: 20220039907
Abstract: A method of inhibiting cancer cell metastasis in a subject by providing a biopsy marker device constructed of a polymeric material, the polymeric material containing an anti-inflammatory agent which is releasable over an extended period of time from the polymeric material after the biopsy marker device has been implanted in a tissue of the subject, and implanting the biopsy marker device into a tissue cavity of the subject, wherein the tissue cavity is caused by a biopsy performed on a tumor in the subject, and wherein release of the anti-inflammatory agent from the polymeric material does not begin for at least 18 to 24 hours after implantation and continues for at least 14 to 60 days after implantation. Metastasis of cancer cells from the tissue cavity is inhibited when the tumor is cancerous. The tissue may be, for example, breast, lung, prostate, pancreas, liver, kidney, uterus, ovary, intestine, stomach, or neck tissue.

  • Patent number: 5445842
Abstract: A quercetin-containing colorant which has as an effective component a quercetin included by cyclodextrin. Effective use thereof as a colorant is possible by imparting thereto resistance against light, heat and chemicals to quercetin which is a flavonoid yellow substance. The colorant may be added to various food products for use of quercetin as a stable coloring matter.

  • Patent number: 5424407
Abstract: A stabilized crocetin-containing colorant which has as an effective component a crocetin included by cyclodextrin. This colorant is imparted with resistance against light and various chemicals to crocetin, which is a hydrolysate of crocin, the main component of the carotenoid gardenia yellow pigment. The colorant may be added to various food products for use of crocetin as a stable coloring matter.

  • Patent number: 4670207
Abstract: A method of bonding plastic pipes, which comprises heat-melting the outer circumferential surface of an end portion of a plastic pipe and the inner circumferential surface of a sockt portion of a plastic joint, and inserting the end portion of the plastic pipe into the socket portion of the plastic joint to thereby bond the two; wherein the inner circumferential surface of the socket portion of the plastic joint is tapered so that the socket portion becomes progressively smaller in diameter in a direction away from its end portion, or the outer circumferential surface of the end portion of the plastic pipe is tapered so that the end portion becomes progressively smaller in diameter toward its insertion end, and wherein when the end portion of the plastic pipe is to be heated, the length from its insertion end of a part to be heated is made nearly equal to the final insertion length of the pipe and when the socket portion of the plastic joint is to be heated, the length from the socket end of a part to be heat
