  • Patent number: 8075736
Abstract: Headbox for a paper machine which discharges paper raw material onto a wire as a raw material jet from a slice which is supplied with the paper raw material. The headbox includes an orientation correcting arrangement for correcting a pulp fiber orientation by supplying the paper raw material as a correction flow to a single location in either a central portion of the slice or a plurality of locations other than end portions thereof. The paper raw material is one of extracted from a taper header in which paper raw material for a main flow is stored and extracted from a correction-only taper header in which paper raw material for correcting the pulp fiber orientation is stored. This abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 7837835
Abstract: The present invention simplifies the equipment in an on-machine coater in which a size press and a post-metering style of coater are alternatively used. In an on-machine coater including a size press 3, an air turn 4 arranged diagonally downward on the downstream side of the size press 3, a post-metering style of coater 6 arranged in the downstream side of the air turn 4, and non-contact dryers 11 arranged above the coater 6, when the coating is performed using the size press 3 the two surfaces of a web A are dried by a pair of the non-contact dryers 11 opposingly provided about the diagonally upward-moving web A on the downstream side of the air turn 4. When the coating is performed using the post-metering style of coater 6, the dryer of the pair of non-contact dryers 11 used to dry the lower surface side of the web A is moved in such a way as to oppose the lower surface side of the web A which, beyond the coater 6, moves upward.

  • Publication number: 20080029024
Abstract: This invention relates to an applicator for applying coating medium, in particular coating medium in several layers onto a running web surface. The applicator includes several curtain heads, which are arranged at random distances apart and from which the coating media or colors are dispensed downward, and an inclined guide face which—as the result of lamination of the coating media or colors dispensed one after the other from each of the several curtain heads along the incline in order to form the several medium or color layers and, in addition, to form a color curtain from a curtain guide part pointing downwards—moves the color layers at the end of the part of the incline onto the web surface.

  • Patent number: 5739759
Abstract: A calling radio wave from a base station is received by a receiving circuit through an antenna of a paging apparatus, and demodulated into a paging signal by a demodulator. If a call signal of the paging signal is determined as being addressed to the paging apparatus by a collator, then the collator determines a page type indicated by the caller based on a page type code at the beginning of a message contained in the paging signal, and outputs the page type to a controller. Based on the page type, the controller causes a speaker to output a melody, transmitting the caller's intention of the page to the carrier of the paging apparatus. A message other than the page type code is displayed on the screen of an LCD through an LCD driver.
