  • Patent number: 7591647
Abstract: A support structure of the present invention includes a fixation member directly or indirectly heated, a supported object supported by the fixation member, and a sliding member provided on an outer periphery of the fixation member, the sliding member being slidable in a longitudinal direction of the fixation member. In the support structure, one fixation part of the supported object is fixed to the fixation member and another fixation part of the supported object is fixed to the sliding member. By this structure, it is possible to avoid concentration of stress and to surely support the supported object to the thermally expanding fixation member.

  • Publication number: 20090210732
Abstract: This invention provides an information processing apparatus which includes a first storage unit and a second storage unit and implements a function of causing the first storage unit and the second storage unit to store data redundantly while maintaining a power saving mode even upon receiving an access request from an external apparatus in the power saving mode, and a method of controlling the same. To accomplish this, upon receiving an HDD access request in the power saving mode, the information processing apparatus operates after transiting to an HDD access mode in which only minimum necessary functions are activated without activating the main CPU. The contents of the HDD changed during the HDD access mode are stored as history information. Upon transiting from the power saving mode to the normal operating mode, the data in another HDD is updated in accordance with the history information, thereby implementing a mirroring function.

  • Publication number: 20090028381
Abstract: An image forming device is provided which embeds a decodable two-dimensional code when embedding (printing) a two-dimensional code in an original document. The image forming device represents additional information by associating virtual points with dots in one-to-one correspondence and arranges dots in positions deviated from virtual points associated with the dots. The image forming device includes a determining unit for determining intervals between the virtual points and virtual points adjacent to the virtual points and determining sizes of the dots, and an arranging unit for arranging dots having the determined sizes to respective virtual points having the determined intervals. The determining unit may determine dots to have sizes other than sizes proportional to the determined intervals.

  • Patent number: 7468803
Abstract: Provided are an image processing apparatus and image processing method capable of processing image data as packet data, and compressing the image data in real time to a data amount within the storage capacity of a memory. Image data in the form of packet data is divided into a plurality of blocks by a block forming circuit (102), and compressed at a first compression ratio by a DCT circuit (104), quantizing circuit (105), and Huffman encoding circuit (106) for each block. A counter (108) measures the data amount of the compressed image data. If the measured data amount is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, the image data stored in a memory (112) is recompressed at a second compression ratio as a higher compression ratio by a Huffman decoding circuit (113), bit shifting circuit (114), and Huffman encoding circuit (115).

  • Publication number: 20070133873
Abstract: A document management apparatus acquires block information of each page, which is obtained by executing block segmentation processing for each page of document data of a first version. A matched block and a mismatched block between the first version and a second version are discriminated on the basis of the block information acquired in association with the document of the first version and block information obtained by executing block segmentation processing for each page of document data of the second version. A page is generated by laying out a block that is determined as a matched block and exists in a page containing a block determined as a mismatched block in the document data of the first version and a block that is determined as a mismatched block in the document data of the second version while maintaining the block sequence in the whole document data of the second version.

  • Publication number: 20040141655
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a technique of coding image data such that the data amount of the coded data falls within a predetermined amount, and decoding the coded image data. When, for example, image data is to be JPEG-compressed, the data amount of the coded data is obtained, and it is determined whether the data amount exceeds the capacity of a memory. If it is determined that the data amount exceeds the capacity of the memory, the compression ratio is increased, and the image data is compressed. In addition, the number of times it was determined that the data amount exceeded the capacity of the memory is counted. In decoding the data, the count value is obtained, and a quantization table is set in accordance with the count value, thereby decoding the data stored in the memory.
