  • Patent number: 5782560
Abstract: An internal mixer and controller enables the phase difference and the speed ratio between two rotors to be changed without stopping the operation of the mixer. The internal mixer comprises: nonintermeshed first and second rotors disposed in a mixing chamber; first and second drive units; first and second phase measuring devices; first and second speed measuring devices; and a control unit for controlling the first and second drive units on the basis of signals from the first and second speed measuring devices and signals from the first and second phase measuring devices. The control unit controls the two rotors so as to synchronously rotate at the same speed on the basis of the signals from the speed measuring devices when the two rotors fixedly rotate at the same speed.

  • Patent number: 5603837
Abstract: A multicomponent mixture is separated into its components by subjecting the multicomponent mixture to a separation means to flow therein, which means comprises a plurality of columns divided into at least three groups wherein each group of columns has the columns which are in the same number as that of the components in the multicomponent mixture and are filled with a adsorbent so that one column has an adsorbent specific to either one of the components; wherein the three groups are respectively assigned to fractionation in a fractionation zone, to purification in a purification zone and to desorption in a desorption zone; the groups of columns are switched from zone to zone; and the effluent from the columns used in the fractionation zone is sent to the columns in the purification zone which have once been used in the fractionation zone and the columns in the purification zone are then assigned, upon the switching, to desorption.

  • Patent number: 5460445
Abstract: An apparatus in which a glass rod is inserted into a spinning oven to perform spinning and glass fiber yarn is drawn out at a shutter located in the lower end of the spinning oven, comprising a timer for measuring a time from the start of heating of the glass rod inserted into the spinning oven until the fall of glass drops formed by the heating of the glass rod and a detector below the shutter for detecting the fall of the glass drops, for the purpose of automatically opening the shutter when a preset time of the timer is over and automatically closing the shutter by detection by the detector, thereby dispensing with a worker's monitoring of the spinning oven for opening and closing the shutter and preventing a danger of giving damage to the shutter and the spinning oven in the event of delayed shutter opening-closing timing.

  • Patent number: 5324107
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a control method for a kneader suitable for controlling the kneader so as to uniformly disperse a compounding agent in a high-molecular material, enabling energy saving. In controlling the kneader for charging the high-molecular material and the compounding agent into a kneading chamber and kneading the mixture of the high-molecular material and the compounding agent so as to uniformly disperse the compounding agent in the high-molecular material, the control method includes the steps of measuring a sound wave generating from the kneading chamber during kneading, detecting whether or not a waveform of the sound wave has become a waveform generating when the compounding agent is uniformly dispersed, and deciding that the kneading is ended if the waveform of the sound wave has become the waveform generating when the compounding agent is uniformly dispersed. It is preferable to perform envelope detection of the sound wave in controlling the kneader.
