  • Publication number: 20040004808
Abstract: An electronic control device includes a board on which electronic parts are provided and a case member accommodating the board and plural cylindrical coils. The plural cylindrical coils have terminals electrically connected to the board by soldering. In the device, an intermediate wall dividing the board from the plural cylindrical coils is formed on the case member, and a stress absorbing means for preventing generation of a solder break on each connection part between the terminals and the board by thermal load is provided between the board and the intermediate wall.

  • Publication number: 20020047430
Abstract: The present invention provides an SR motor in which magnetic pole utilization is improved by increasing an overlapping area between projecting poles. A stator 10 is provided at its outer peripheral surface with slots SR1 through SR12. Between two adjacent slots, each of poles S1 through S12 are defined. Each of coils Aa, Ab, ba, Bb, Ca, and Cb is wound along any two slots between which two other slots are placed such that the coils Aa, Ba, and Ca are in parallel to the coils Ab, Bb, and Cb, respectively. Along an inner peripheral surface of a rotor 20, a plurality of circumferentially spaced magnetically insulated pieces J1 through J8 formed of magnetic material are mounted. When each of the pieces J1 through J8 is in opposition to the two adjacent poles of the stator 10, each of the coils generates a closed-loop magnetic flux that passes through the magnetic material piece and the poles corresponding thereto, thereby producing a torque.

  • Patent number: 6100660
Abstract: A temperature sensor is located close to each of a plurality of switching elements. Each of the elements opens and closes a current supplying line from a power supply to a three phase SR motor. A generating circuit of a instruction value for the driving current of the motor generates a target value (It) of the driving current so as to achieve a requested power of the motor and an allowable value of the driving current on the basis of the highest temperature sensed by the temperature sensors. The circuit outputs the target value as an instruction value of the driving current when the target value is smaller than the allowable value and outputs the allowable value as an instruction value of the driving current when the target value is greater than the allowable value.

  • Patent number: 5926164
Abstract: An infrared-spectrum image processor mounted in a vehicle assists a driver in seeing under difficult conditions, such as rain, smog or fog. The device operates, in part, on the principle that infrared rays are "visible" at longer distances than are light rays falling within the visible spectrum, especially when adverse visual conditions exist. Also, different objects have different images when "viewed" in the infrared spectrum. Thus, even if an image is difficult to see in the visible spectrum, if the infrared spectrum is not disturbed, it may be possible to "see" the objects anyway. In operation, the processor analyzes a histogram derived from a taken image. If the histogram shows a distribution containing two peaks, the processor determines that there is an obscure image. For mounting on a vehicle an infrared camera is mounted on the vehicle roof. A dash-mounted display is provided for transmitting the processed images to the driver to facilitate decision-making while driving.

  • Patent number: 4706072
Abstract: There is provided an apparatus which decides the presence or absence of an anomaly by detecting the gripped state of a steering wheel by the driver steering a road-vehicle, or by measuring fluctuations in heart rate and heartbeat period of the driver, and which issues an alarm of "Take a rest", etc. or controls the vehicle speed to be lowered, if there occurs any anomaly. Detecting means is attached to a steering wheel, steering wheel cover or a band-shaped member. The detecting means comprises a plurality of reflection type optical sensors which are each composed of a light emitting element and one or more light receiving elements, and which are set in such proper arrangement and orientation as permitting detection in any of various conditions.

  • Patent number: 4664127
Abstract: A device for measuring heartbeats of a driver using a multiplicity of optical heartbeat sensors which are dispersed about the rim of steering wheel. Fluctuation (variance) in the period of a heartbeat signal is measured and compared with a reference value to decide the presence or absence of abnormality. The presence of abnormality is signaled by a visual indication and acoustic output. The reference value is set based on the value which was obtained from the actual heartbeat measurement of the driver in a reference value setting mode. The reference value is stored in a non-volatile read/write memory to be held even when the power is off. The difference in output levels of a light receiving element between when a light emitting element is energized and when it is deenergized, is checked for each heartbeat sensor to decide whether a heartbeat signal has been actually obtained therefrom.
