  • Patent number: 8409687
Abstract: A UV-curable composition for optical discs contains a fluorine-containing UV-curable resin having a poly(perfluoroalkylene ether) chain and a UV-curable group. The fluorine-containing UV-curable resin exhibits good compatibility with the composition and satisfactorily localizes in and near a surface of a coating film. Thus, the composition can be used to form an outermost layer of an optical disc such that the droplet size of grease such as that constituting fingerprints adhering to the outermost layer is reduced and scattering of light having a short oscillation wavelength passing through the outermost layer is suppressed. Accordingly, an optical disc on and from which signals can be satisfactorily recorded and read is formed.

  • Publication number: 20100173115
Abstract: An ultraviolet curable composition comprising a polyfunctional meth)acrylate having three or more (meth)acryloyl groups per molecule, a difunctional (meth)acrylate having two (meth)acryloyl groups per molecule, and a monofunctional (meth)acrylate having one (meth)acryloyl group per molecule, wherein the content of the polyfunctional (meth)acrylate in the (meth)acrylates contained in the ultraviolet curable composition is 30 to 70% by mass, the content of the monofunctional (meth)acrylate is 5 to 30% by mass, the total content of a difunctional (meth)acrylate having an alicyclic structure and a monofunctional (meth)acrylate having an alicyclic structure is 10 to 50% by mass, and the content of a methacrylate is 7% by mass or more exhibits good separation when separated from a stamp. A resultant cured film can be separated from a stamp made of a general-purpose resin while maintaining useful characteristics such as heat resistance and the like for an intermediate layer of an optical disc.

  • Patent number: 6653040
Abstract: The present invention provides a carrier for electrophotography, which is capable of charging the toner in the developer very rapidly to a target electrostatic charge and at the same time, is capable of maintaining the target electrostatic charge during printing, so that the chemical fogging related to the slow charging rate can be eliminated and the image density related to the maintenance of the electrostatic charge can be preserved during printing. The charging rate and the charge maintenance of the electrophotographic carrier can be preserved if the carrier composed of magnetic core particles and the resin coat satisfies the following equation (B)>[(−19.4)×(A)+31], wherein (A) represents a carbon content (weight %) of the carrier and (B) represents a ratio of the square root of the number of emitted photoelectrons ((CPS)½) and the photon energy (eV).
