  • Publication number: 20080044199
Abstract: A support structure for an image processing apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus has an apparatus body, a base provided at a lower portion of the apparatus body for supporting the body, and an image processing unit disposed inside the apparatus body or attached thereto. The processing unit is capable of effecting at least either an image forming operation or an image reading operation. The support structure includes a grounding portion formed at and integrally with a bottom of the apparatus base for coming into contact with a contact-object surface such as a floor surface at at least three positions thereof thereby to support the base parallel with the contact-object surface and includes also an elastic projecting portion formed of a material having greater elasticity than a material forming the grounding portion. The elastic projecting portion has a ground-contacting face which projects from a bottom face of the grounding portion under a non-grounded condition of the support structure.

  • Publication number: 20060260902
Abstract: Through a coupling member 30, a drive-feed shaft 41a is fitted and, at the other end of the drive-feed shaft 41a, a drive-transmission gear 40a is fixed. By a compression spring 44, the coupling member 30 is loaded with a force that tends to move it in the direction indicated by arrow D, and is in a first position where the coupling member 30 coupling member 30 couples the drive-feed shaft 41a with a rotated member. When an arm member 33 is pulled up in the direction indicated by arrow E, a first rib 30a rides on a second rib 34 along a slanted surface 34a, and the coupling member 30 moves in the direction indicated by arrow D? against the force exerted by the compression spring 44, and is retracted into a second position where the coupling member 30 decouples the rotated member from the drive-feed shaft 41a.

  • Publication number: 20060164500
Abstract: Inner circumference projections of a driven coupling are engaged with inner circumference recesses of a drive coupling. Outer circumference projections of the driven coupling are engaged with outer circumference recesses of the drive coupling. A chamfered portion formed at each tip of the rotational leading-side side surface of the inner circumference projections is capable of contact with the leading-side side surface of each inner circumference recess. A rotational trailing-side circumferential end face of each outer circumference projection and a rotational trailing-side circumferential end face of each outer circumference recess are in surface-to-surface contact with each other. As a result, the drive coupling and the driven coupling can rotate integrally without rattling in the rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 6055410
Abstract: Bypass sheet-feeding section for an electro-statographic image reproducing apparatus employing vertical sheet transport from sheet supply cassettes to the image reproducing section. The bypass sheet-feeding section serves to hold special copying sheets such as cardboard, OHP sheets, and surface-coated paper; but it can also serve to hold a stack of, for example, conventional-sized copy paper. The bypass/stack sheet-feeding section is fitted with drawer guides, and includes a sheet-loading plate, a sheet-feeding pickup roller, a sheet-feed plying roller pair and a mechanism for moving the loading plate vertically. The bypass/stack sheet-feeding section can be withdrawn integrally when it is pulled out from the side of the copier main unit.

  • Patent number: 5771428
Abstract: Disclosed is an image forming apparatus having the following arrangement. When a first linking member pivotally moves to the original position, an engaging portion juttingly formed from the first linking member engages a first positioning portion formed in a frame, while a second roller coming into contact with a first roller rotatably supported to the frame. A second linking member is pivotally rotated in response to the pivotal rotation of the first linking member, and part of a transfer unit engages a second positioning portion formed in the frame to position the transfer unit relative to a photosensitive drum. In association with the pivotal rotation of the second linking member, a guide portion of the second linking member engages part of a fixing unit to position the guide portion relative to the fixing unit.

  • Patent number: 5689775
Abstract: In an imaging station of a photocopier, a transfer device is provided in configuration with a photosensitive drum 7. The transfer device is provided with a discharge wire 24 located opposite the photosensitive drum 7, a housing 26, a charge removing member 51, and a shield frame 25. The housing 26 has a pair of insulating blocks 40 supporting either end of discharge wire 24, and a connecting shank 41 formed integrally with and extending between the pair of insulating blocks. The charge removing member 51 is fitted to the shank 41 and removes image-transferring electrical charge from the reverse side of a sheet passed by a sheet supply transport device 15 through the imaging station. The shield frame 25 is formed to at least partially surround the discharge wire 24, and has an opening 30a on the side facing photosensitive drum 7, into which support housing 26 is fitted.

  • Patent number: 5614997
Abstract: A configuration is provided for a pair of sheet-feeding registration rollers, a transfer device, and an image-forming photo-sensitive drum in an image reproducing apparatus particularly of the clamshell-type construction. The transfer device has a sheet-charging discharge wire for transferring a toner-developed image on the photo-sensitive drum to a copy sheet. A case for the transfer device includes a synthetic-resin housing which retains the discharge wire and is fitted into a shield frame. The shield frame is configured together with at least one bracing spring to constitute a positioning mechanism for maintaining a predetermined parallel spacing lengthwise between the discharge wire and the cylindrical surface of the photo-sensitive drum, the positioning mechanism therein elastically abutting specially formed lengthwise ends of the shield frame against either of lower ends of a housing containing the photo-sensitive drum.
