  • Patent number: 6797922
Abstract: A power supply apparatus for a welder includes a rectifier (104) and a smoothing reactor (106) which operate together to convert a commercial AC supply voltage to a DC voltage. The DC voltage is converted to a high-frequency voltage by an inverter (108), which, in turn, is voltage-transformed by a voltage-transformer (110). The voltage-transformed, high-frequency voltage is converted to a DC voltage by a rectifying diode (112) and a smoothing reactor (114), and the resulting DC voltage is applied to a workpiece (118a) and a torch (118b). A current detector (120) develops a load current representative signal, and a control circuit (122) so controls a drive circuit (126) which drives the inverter (108) that the load current representative signal becomes equal to a reference current signal provided by a reference source (124). When a small load current is used, a pulse forming switch (140) is repetitively turned on and off to produce a pulse current from a pulse current setting source (139).

  • Publication number: 20040049305
Abstract: A conventional audio/video transmission system including an audio/video transmitter apparatus and an audio/video receiver apparatus suffers from delay of video relative to audio resulting from reproducing audio from the audio signal output from the audio/video transmitter apparatus and reproducing video from the video signal output from the audio/video receiver apparatus. To solve this inconvenience, according to the invention, in an audio/video transmission system including an audio/video transmitter apparatus and an audio/video receiver apparatus, the audio/video transmitter apparatus additionally has an audio delay circuit that outputs the input analog audio signal with a predetermined delay time.

  • Publication number: 20040040945
Abstract: An IGBT (16) intermittently interrupts a current from a positive terminal (12P) of a DC supply (2) to a workpiece (24). An IGBT (20) intermittently interrupts a current from a negative terminal (12N) of the DC supply (2) to the workpiece (24). A control circuit (32) and a drive signal generating circuit (34) ON-OFF control the IGBTs (16, 20). The control circuit (32) causes the drive signal generating circuit (34) to control the IGBTs (16, 20) in such a manner as to provide a repetition of a cycle consisting of an AC period during which the IGBTs (16, 20) are alternately rendered conductive, and a DC period following the AC period during which the IGBT (16) is rendered continuously conductive.

  • Patent number: 6526216
Abstract: A video production system, which has realized an effective utilization of many existing broadcasting equipments (a time-code generator, an editing controller, etc.) that require a framing with a frequency of 30 Hz and also equipments that function according to a standard of the present time-code defined by a unit of 30 Hz, for a progressive scanning TV format which does not accept a framing by frequency of 30 Hz. An interlaced scanning TV synchronizing signal, which is synchronized of field with a progressive scanning TV signal, is coupled with various kinds of broadcasting equipments (VTRs 102 and 103, a time-code generator 4 and an editing controller 5) from a progressive scanning TV synchronizing signal source 30. In this way, an entire video production system of the progressive scanning TV format is synchronized with the interlaced scanning TV synchronizing signal, and is capable of being synchronized with 30 Hz.

  • Patent number: 6269015
Abstract: An input-side rectifier rectifies a commercial AC voltage from a commercial AC power supply connected to an input terminal and develops a rectified voltage between two output terminals. The rectified voltage is smoothed by a pair of capacitors. A switching arrangement connects the capacitors selectively in series and in parallel between the two output terminals. An inverter is associated with each of the capacitors. A high-frequency voltage from each of the inverters is voltage-transformed by a transformer. The high-frequency voltage from the transformer is converted into a DC voltage by a high-frequency-to DC converter for application to a load. When an AC voltage in a lower voltage group is applied to the input terminal, a switching control unit causes the switching arrangement to connect the capacitors in parallel, and when an AC voltage in a higher voltage group is applied to the input terminal, the switching arrangement is caused to connect the capacitors in series.

  • Patent number: 6091049
Abstract: A power supply apparatus for use with an arc utilizing device includes capacitors coupled in series between outputs of a rectifying unit, and inverters each of which is coupled across a respective one of the capacitors. Each inverter converts a DC voltage from the capacitor into a high frequency voltage and applies it to a respective one of transformers. A converter converts an output voltage from each transformer into a DC voltage for application to a load. An output detector generates a signal representative of an output current supplied to the load. A first voltage detector generates a signal representative of a first voltage to be applied to the inverters. A second voltage detector generates a signal representative of a second voltage across one of the capacitors.
