Abstract: A laser processing apparatus includes a support unit that supports a wafer including a plurality of functional elements disposed adjacent to each other via a street, an irradiation unit that irradiates the street with laser light, and a control unit that controls the irradiation unit based on information about the streets so that a first region and a second region of the street are simultaneously irradiated with the laser light, and a power of the laser light for removing a surface layer of the street in the first region is higher than a power for removing the surface layer of the street in the first region. The information about the street includes information that a processing threshold value indicating a difficulty of laser processing in the first region is lower than a processing threshold value in the second region.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a device capable of identifying an image orientation to allow adequate processing to be executed and a device capable of binding sheets by determining a binding position. When an image orientation cannot be identified on the basis of a predetermined reference object, it is identified on the basis of another object. When the image orientation of a reference image and the image orientations of the other images are not coincident, an adequate procedure is executed to avoid an undesirable result. An orientation of a document image matching a predetermined adequate binding position is surely and accurately determined.

Abstract: A tubular felt useful in the grinding of the panel face of a cathode ray tube is made up of a fabric woven with a non heat-shrinkable warp and a heat-shrinkable weft; a heat-shrinkable batt bonded to the surface of said fabric by needling; and a non heat-meltable, hygroscopic fiber mixed with at least one of the heat-shrinkable weft and heat-shrinkable batt.
