  • Patent number: 5755579
Abstract: An electric junction box includes a main case having a component connector, an under case having a harness connector, and a longitudinal busbar, which are mounted by making a board surface of the insulated substrate and the longitudinal busbar cross at right angles, and in which the longitudinal busbar is extended to the connector through junction terminals accommodated in the terminal-accommodating cavity. An under case, which is divided into a plurality of sub-cases corresponding to sub-wiring harnesses, is provided with an insulated supporting board for supporting a plurality of junction terminals and a longitudinal busbar. The described arrangement enables each of the separated insulated supporting boards to be fixedly installed in the main case by means of known ways, such as welding, or the like.

  • Patent number: 5730617
Abstract: A guide structure for an electronic unit in an electrical connection box is attached to a unit attaching surface while inserted along guide walls of an electrical connection box body. Guide grooves, each extending in an electronic unit insertion direction, are arranged at least on outer surfaces of confronting peripheral walls of the electronic unit, and guide ribs that are engageable with the guide grooves and that can position an electronic unit of different size are projectingly disposed on the unit attaching surface. The guide structure for the electronic unit can prevent oblique insertion of the electronic unit when the electronic unit is attached to the electrical connection box while inserted between guide walls of the electrical connection box. The guide structure also allows attachment of the electronic unit of different size.

  • Patent number: 5722863
Abstract: An upper cover 2 is coupled to a junction block 4 by means of a securing member 5. A slant side wall 2h of a groove frame 2c of the upper cover 2 and a rib 1f at an opening rim portion 1e of a lower cover 1 are operated together, so that the opening rim portion 1e is bent to move an engaging protrusion 1c inside. The engaging protrusion 1c is jointed to an engaging concave portion 4a of the junction block 4, so that the lower cover 1, the upper cover 2 and the junction block 4 is secured all-in-one.

  • Patent number: 5707260
Abstract: A terminal chain includes box-shaped terminal-connecting portions (1, 1', 1"), each being rectangular in cross-section and defined by two major side walls (1a1 and 1a2, 1a1' and 1a2', 1a1" and 1a2") and two minor side walls (1b1 and 1b2, 1b1' and 1b2', 1b1" and 1b2") wherein the major side walls (1a1 and 1a2, 1a1' and 1a2', 1a1" and 1a2") are greater in width than the minor side walls (1b1 and 1b2, 1b1' and 1b2', 1b1" and 1b2"). The terminal chain also includes a connecting strip (2) to which the terminal-connecting portions (1, 1', 1") are connected in the form of a chain. Each terminal-connecting portion (1, 1', 1") is connected to the connecting strip (2) via a connecting portion (1c, 1c', 1c") which extends from one of the two minor side walls (1b1 and 1b2, 1b1' and 1b2', 1b1" and 1b2") of the corresponding terminal connecting portion (1, 1', 1"). The terminal chain is formed by folding a development (M) punched out of an electrically-conductive metal plate.

  • Patent number: 5668350
Abstract: Since an opening of a lower cover and a side wall of an upper cover are formed in a trapezoid shape so that an upper width is larger than a lower width, a packing between fitting portions is suitably compressed on right and left inclined portions on the side wall and the opening only by fitting the upper cover to the lower cover from above. As a result, high waterproofing can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5390648
Abstract: An electrically wiring arrangement mounted on the upper portion of a gasoline engine in an automobile or the like in which the current receiving connectors can be readily engaged with the current supplying connectors of a wire harness. Mounting parts, namely, ignition coils, are mounted above the cylinders, respectively, forming the upper portion of an engine body with screws. Each ignition coil has a current receiving connector on top which has contact terminals extending upright. An igniter having an external current receiving connector is mounted on the inner surface of one end portion of the cylinder head cover, and current supplying terminals, each of which has a connector housing in which female metal terminals are disposed, are mounted on the same inner surface of the cylinder head cover in such a manner that they are in alignment with the contact terminals of the ignition coils. The female metal terminals are connected to the igniter through conductors arranged in a predetermined circuit pattern.

  • Patent number: 4952753
Abstract: In an electric connection box containing a wiring board such as a bus bar circuit board and a surface cover set on the top of the wiring board and assembled inside the box body, the inside bottom surface of the box body is inclined to an angle that allows the downward flow of water droplets, spacers are projectingly installed upwardly on the inclined surface, and a spacing provided between the bus bar circuit formed in the lower surface of the wiring board in contact with the spacers and the inside bottom surface of the box body is greater than the height of the water droplets.

  • Patent number: 4910641
Abstract: A wire harness apparatus for an instrument panel comprises a meter panel mounted on an instrument panel and a wire harness having a connection block at its intermediate portion. The meter panel has meters on its front cover and at least one electrical connector on its rear cover. The harness is mounted on the dash board of a vehicle. A plurality of bus bars are disposed side by side in parallel to each other in the connection block. Some of wires of the wire harness are replaced by the bus bars. The connection block has at least one window through which the electrical connector is inserted in fitting-engagement. The electrical connector is matingly connected with the bus bars for electrical connection therebetween when the instrument panel is mounted to a dash board in place, thereby simultaneously making connection between the harness wire and the meter panel both electrically and mechanically.
